The Che Convention - The most left-wing Democrats in American history have gathered in Charlotte.
American Spectator ^ | 9.5.12 | PETER FERRARA

Posted on 09/05/2012 6:26:27 PM PDT by neverdem

The Democrats open their national convention this week under dark storm clouds of left-wing extremism. This is not your father's Democrat party. George McGovern would be a right winger at this convention.

The party meets to renominate Barack Obama, the most left-wing nominee and President in U.S. history, a self-identified Marxist with a long professional record of associating with Marxist and left-wing extremist individuals and organizations, if you read his autobiographies. If you disagree, or know someone who disagrees, the answer is read what the man himself has written about himself.

I won't repeat that history of associations here because it is old news and would take way too much space to do it justice. It is a matter of public record, and not a matter over which reasonable people can differ.

The Che Guevara Democrats

But it is not just Barack Obama. The repeatedly reelected leader of the Democrats in the House is Nancy Pelosi, from an ultraliberal San Francisco district where the voters have long since stopped thinking and just vote Che as a matter of style. There are many more like her in the Democrat caucus, from similar districts. The soul of the House under Pelosi's leadership is the Congressional Black Caucus, which features openly socialist representatives from inner city urban districts where the only political competition is between left and lefter. These members have replaced the Southern conservative Democrats of a generation ago as the most senior members of all the important committees. That marks an enormous difference from the Democrat party of the 1970s, further reflected in the complete collapse within the party of conservative Democrats...

Given the orientation of President Hussein and the pols who follow in his wake, taken together with what they’ve been up to for the past four years, it’s hardly appropriate to refer to these characters as Democrats; Marxist Revolutionaries would be closer to the mark.

Should they win another term in the White House, they’ll prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Anyone with half a brain left who would still identify with the Democrats must now seriously re-evaluate their mind-set. They must do a gut check. Is this really the Democrat Party of your father, your grandfather, etc.?

In many, if not most cases, the answer is a resounding “NO!!!!”

But is it really getting through to the masses what the Dem party has become? I worry about our brainwashed electorate.

I’m actually thrilled that the loons have et the mask slip and letting America see who they really are. It will be hard to go back to the “Maskirovka” that they are just ordinary patriotic Americans...

Che?

If one watches and listens closely, and then does a little research, many of the phrases used so readily by Obama and his surrogates have origins in the most radical "leftist" thought of the past 100 years. A poster on another thread mentioned familiar Alinsky phrases showing up in the words of the First Lady earlier.

There are other examples, for instance, does anyone remember this news story from early November 2008?

"At a Virginia rally -— 'If you’ll stand with me, then I know that we can win Virginia and we can win this election and we can finally bring the change we need to Washington,' Obama told the estimated crowd of 35,000. 'I feel like we got a righteous wind at our backs here.'”

Then, there is this quote from Chairman Mao:

“The ill wind of opportunism is falling, the righteous wind of socialism is on the rise.”

Is it any wonder that the later White House spokesman Anita Dunn declared before an audience that Mao was her "go to" philosopher?

The ideas and words of Mao, Marx and Lenin play a dominant and unhidden role in the philosophy of this Administration.

On the other hand, one hears little of the familiar words and ideas of individual liberty and limited government power expressed so eloquently by Washington, Jefferson, Adams, and Madison.

Indeed. Makes the Democratic conventions of 1968 and 1972 look like the GOP conventions of 1964 and 1980 by comparison.

Me too. All those decades of dumbing down our education system is paying off for them big time.

(Article) .....reflected in the complete collapse within the party of conservative Democrats...

They had help in the collapsing, no doubt. The country needs the political equivalent of a medical examiner's report on the demise of the old-school Dems who used to believe in patriotism and voted for defense budgets.

Who shanked them? Who held the knife, who held the artist's shirt?

Inquiring minds want to know .... but I think it had something to do with Bill Clinton's deceptive and Iscariotic incumbency as the leader of the Blue Dogs, whom I think he led to betrayal, destruction, and extinction.

They are making such stupid mistakes, I almost think they're trying to throw this thing.

Maybe it's that silly political science degree I majored in that's causing me to have this kind of reaction, but when I see the Democrats moving hard to the left in the general election, something just jumps out at me and screams "WTF, are these people crazy?"

Didn't they get the memo that said "OK, we wrapped up the extreme leftwing base in the primary elections, now we REALLY ought to slide over to the middle and try to get at least SOME of the undecided Independent vote"?
