Bill Clinton Rocks DNC: Second Obama Term Means ‘Shared Prosperity’
The Blaze ^ | Sept. 5, 2012 | Jason Howerton

The economy that President Barack Obama inherited from Republicans was “a total mess” and he needs another four years in the White House to finishing fixing it, former President Bill Clinton argued Wednesday in his prime time speech at the Democratic National Convention.

The 42nd president of the United States commanded the DNC crowd, framing the upcoming November election as a clear choice between Obama, who he argued would bring “shared prosperity,” and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

“My fellow Americans, you have to decide what kind of country you want to live in,” Clinton explained. “If you want a you’re-on-your-own, winner-take-all society, you should support the Republican ticket. If you want a country of shared prosperity and shared responsibility — a we’re-all-in-this-together society — you should vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden.”

Clinton said the GOP’s campaign argument is “pretty simple: ‘We left him a total mess, he hasn’t cleaned it up yet, so fire him and put us back in.’“ He also said Republicans live in an ”alternate universe.”

“I like the argument for President Barack Obama’s re-election a lot better,” Clinton said.

“Here it is: He inherited a deeply damaged economy, put a floor under the crash, he began a long hard road to recovery and laid the foundation for a modern, more well-balanced economy that will produce millions of good new jobs, vibrant new businesses and lots of new wealth for innovators.”

Shared prosperity?

I have an ownership share in Obama's Hyde Park home for the 32nd week every other year. Does anyone else have that week? Did I get Bakkered on this? ;-)

Be interesting to hear Clinton speeches in 08 concerning Obama and compare them. What did he say about Obama in 08? I imagine that none of it has come true.

“The worst is yet to come tomorrow..”

I watched “To Have and Have Not,” Lauren Bacall’s debut film (and also starring Humphrey Bogart). It was on at 8 PM ET - fabulous movie. Followed by another Bogart/Bacall film as Phillip Marlowe. Not much on for tomorrow though.

The democrats won control of the House and the Senate in November 2006.

So, the democrats were in charge of Capitol Hill for all of 2007 and 2008 when this economic mess kicked in. Yet, to hear the libs tell it, it’s all “Bush’s fault.” The democrat Congress of 2007 and 2008 never gets blamed for anything. How convenient.

Shared Prosperity means every American will have a joint bank account with Obummer.
All single tenant bank accounts will be eiminated.
I kid you not.

Shared Prosperity? I can see entrepreneurs leaving in droves. Then, what will there be to share?

Personally, I like the “you’re on your own” and “winner takes all” plans. When I bet on a horse I know how of my bet I’ll get back if my horse wins. I don’t expect to get other peoples’ winnings if my nag comes in last. And I don’t want to share my winnings when my horse comes in first.

So, as far as I’m concerned we’re not all in this together like the old Falstfaff Beer Commercials would say. I’m not into illegal immigrants or muslims bringing sharia law or abortion on demand or providing ribbed condemns in four flavors and 4 colors for Sandra Flucke. Let them all be in it together. I’m not interested.

Sorry, I have to agree with Bill Clinton and the Dems. So I want some of his money, his stupid wife’s money, his dog’s, er I mean daughter’s money.

Then I want money from every over rich Dem in Congress (outnumber rich GOP by a lot) and then from every left wing jerk off liberal moron in the federal bureacuracy.

So until I get that money they might as well just STFU!

I hate rich, taxpaid, hypocrite statist. May God kill them all.

I watched a series of 9-11 programs tonight. The one called “The Falling Man” brought me to tears....well they all did.

I love TCM and watch it often.

Shared prosperity for 20 million illegal immigrants to come into the country and vote the democrats back into power so they can tax the legal middle class into oblivion so the likes of drunken grifters like Clinton and the Muslim Obama can share in the booty...our private property and wealth.

No thank you. They should both be in jail.

That’s shared prosperity to a democrat...something for nothing at the expense of others...

"Amazing how Elizabeth Warren can rally the women of America to fight abuses by men, then a rapist named Bill Clinton follows her and is loved by the ladies."

Every word you said was true, and it is truly amazing that such a reprobate as Clintigula could give a speech that was like watching Dimmaggio hit 4 homers in the World Series.

Bishop Willard had better have a huge rabbit up his sleeve, or it's over.

Funny how it is never mentioned that Obama was in the United States Senate for two years before he became President. His “I didn't know how bad it was” mantra only convinces me that he had no idea what he was doing as a Senator, much less POTUS.

During those two years when Pelosi and Reid ran the show, the Country went to pot.

Prior to the Democrat takeover in 2007, Tax Revenues were growing at a record pace due to the Bush Tax Rate Cuts, Unemployment was averaging 5% and GDP Growth was over 4%. All this in addition to record month to month Job Growth.

The good old days, despite the Democrat Party revisionist History. Imagine if the Media supported President Bush rather than spending the entire eight years of his Presidency brain washing the American People to hate him.

It is also telling that the Economic Impact of 9/11 is never mentioned. I remember the talking heads saying that we wouldn't recover from that blow to our Economy for at least ten years. Less than three years later things were humming right along.

Of course the fact that the largest Bush era Deficit was one third the size of the smallest Obama era Deficit is never mentioned. Bush was and is a Big Government guy, but he is light years behind Obama in that regard.

Willard wouldn’t need a ‘rabbit up his sleeve’ if women didn’t have the right to vote. Without them, he’d win handily and Barack would easily lose. Unfortunately that is not the case which explains why we saw so much magic tonight. Women love magic, the Dems know this and are using it like never seen before.

Shared prosperity; absolutely - no doubt about it!

Psst - by the way, I own this bridge in Brooklyn, and I’m willing to let it go cheap...

Taking my hard earned money and giving it to your.. friends, is not “shared prosperity”, it’s theft.
