FACT CHECK: Clinton Claims of Compromise A Stretch September 6 2012 TOM RAUM It's a fact of life in Washington that what one party considers a principled stand, the opposition considers pigheadedness. Compromise? That's the other guy's problem.
But when former President Bill Clinton took the stage at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday, he portrayed President Barack Obama as a pragmatic compromiser who has been stymied at every turn by Republicans. There was no mention of the role that the president and the Democrats have played in grinding compromise to a halt on some of the most important issues facing the country.
That was among the lines by the former president and others Wednesday that either cherry-picked facts or mischaracterized the opposition. A look at some of them:
CLINTON: "When times are tough, constant conflict may be good politics but in the real world, cooperation works better. ...Unfortunately, the faction that now dominates the Republican Party doesn't see it that way. They think government is the enemy and compromise is weakness. One of the main reasons America should re-elect President Obama is that he is still committed to cooperation."

The Guardian calls Bubba on his BS.
Clinton made it sound as if Obama walks on water.
The Clintons are becoming more greedy everyday.
There were two options (for Hillary to be President)
a) Hope Romney wins and run against him in 2016.
b) Hope Obama wins, destroys America so much that at least 75% of Americans will be dependent on government by the end of Obama’s Presidency. Americans would be desperate for a change but too afraid to risk supporting anybody who would talk of cutting government and entitlements.
I think the Clintons have chosen Option b)
If Obama gets a second term the GOP would have to move left before even thinking about trying to win another election. THAT’s why this election is so important politically.
There’s going to be A LOT of fact checking on that speech.
Any idea where he came up with the “Democrats have created 44 million jobs” B.S.?
Clinton - he’s a very good liar.
He also claimed we were in recession when he took office and booming when he left. His timing is off on both ends of that statement.
wow and in the Guardian no less
was bill wearing a blew.....blue dress tonight. sounds like it. not bad bill for the guy you said should be carrying your bags. now you’re shining his shoes and while you’re down there.....
I mean from the dubious, leftist media that is...
The whole show was surreal. That little dance Obama did at the end and then the long back patting hug between the two of them made me nauseous.
