I love stories with a happy ending.
my new hero!
Just like Clint Eastwood, this guy is past the age where he cares what he says or what others think. Good for him.
Me. At age 57, I would still say I feared for my life as ‘the system’ can still hurt me. Don’t want to become another Zimmerman.
the gun shown in the video, if that was the weapon he used (they may have taken his ‘.22’ to check for forensics etc)
but if that was the weapon it was not a .22 it was a Harrington & Richardson Topper Model 20 gauge shotgun.
but I would expect newsjackoffs to get it wrong.
at the end of one of the videos, he said “That’s not America” as the cops made him put up his hands. 92 and he knows the score.
I love a happy ending, too!
I’m glad this was in Kentucky. Can you imagine what would have happen to this guy in Massachusetts?
The gun he posed with looked like an antique.
Thank you for the links smokingfrog. Interesting that USAtoday edited their tape. They didn’t tell us he’d been robbed a number of times before - 4 or 5.
It’s probably a good thing he’s 92.
Kind of hard to make an example out of somebody who may up and die on you before you are done.
Punk wasn’t lucky.
Not just one intruder and not just one intrusion. They had the old man under siege within his home. He ought to get a bounty for killing the no account.

There are mugshot online of the decedent as well, so ha has some kind of record.
Job well done, and again there ought to be a bounty paid to Jones.
In the darkness, he hears a voice which sounds like the old lady. The voice says, "I see you, and Jesus sees you!". He just can't understand how that could be, but having no fear of the old woman, he continues. He hears again, "I see you, and Jesus sees you!". Loudly, he says in the darkness, "Shut up old woman, and I won't hurt you!" He presses on. Finally he finds the wall and goes down it looking for the light switch. He hears one more time, "I see you and Jesus sees you!". He says, "Shut up, or I'll beat you into silence!"
Reaching the light switch, he flicks the light on. Looking up, he sees a parrot in a cage and the parrot says again, "I see you, and Jesus sees you!". Laughing, he breathes a sigh of relief, realizing the bird was trained to say that by the old woman. He looks up the stairs and sees a huge Doberman sitting at the top of the stairs which begins to snarl. Suddenly, the bird shouts, "Sic 'em Jesus!"
Way to go, Mister District Attorney!!!
no....though it could be...the topper model has been made since 1893 and is still made today.
it is a single shot break open shotgun with external hammer cocking that came in .410, 20, 16 and 12 gauge. I had one in 12 gauge that I gave to my brother who upgraded and traded it(plus cash) for a pump shotgun.
very simple, always works, and devistating at close range.
Not many WWII vets left. Or Korean War vets for that matter. In 1990 I would see WWII vets at my VA hospital/clinic. It’s been years now since I’ve seen any. They must all have passed away.
I still have/shoot my Grandfathers’ 20g H&R. I shoot the recommended “high brass” type shells. 4 or 6 shot works well.
Bless him.
The late Mr. Maxwell wasn’t too smart.
