CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee chairwoman and congresswoman from Florida, was at ease this morning among a group of Democrats from deep-blue California.
"Let me just tell you how much I appreciate the oasis of Democratic politics that California is," she said at a delegation breakfast on the final day of the Democratic National Convention. "I know that you all feel like you live in heaven."

If anyone but a democratic politician made this statement it would be discarded as cynical.
Maybe Debbie is a satirical genius, a whimsical old owl? Or maybe the fact that California is bankrupt is lost on her as she accidentally blames the "the oasis of Democratic politics" on the fiscal problems that is bankrupting the state.
Put Debbie, Nancy and Barbra in an inflatable row boat with one oar, a bottle of water, a knife and a candy bar in the middle of the Pacific with hidden cameras rolling. I'd pay to watch a real episode of Survivor for that.

Yeah, I live in SoCal too, and agree. But hey, there’s still lots of Other People’s Money to keep CA afloat for a few more years. And if we reelect Obama he’ll make sure we get it, even if he has to borrow it from China.

Right now, their best hope is that a second Obama term will allow them to get bailed out. but even they know that this is a dim hope with GOP control of the US House. Still, when it is the only game in town, they can hope [but not pray!]
