CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee chairwoman and congresswoman from Florida, was at ease this morning among a group of Democrats from deep-blue California.

"Let me just tell you how much I appreciate the oasis of Democratic politics that California is," she said at a delegation breakfast on the final day of the Democratic National Convention. "I know that you all feel like you live in heaven."

Yeah; we admired California’s oasis of democratic (correctly, “democrat”) politics so much that we got the hell outta there.

The state is bankrupt and now on a non-stop, high speed bullet train to Armageddon.

It's exactly like watching a train wreck. You know it's coming, you don't want to see it, but you can't look away.

” I wonder how much “like heaven” California would feel if states like Texas stopped giving it electricity?

The freaking libs in California don’t want power plants... well I say give them what they demand! and let them pay the price.”

I don’t blame you for feeling that way. Just remember that California is around 55-60% liberal at best....the rest aren’t. When I moved there in 1976, it was just the opposite.
Thirty years of east coast liberal transplants, foreign immigrants, and millions of illegal immigrants finally took its toll

Well, I'm a third generation native of San Diego, CA, who can no longer afford to live in my native city or state, thanks the influx of east coast liberals, the democrats who got rid of the Bracero program in the 60’s, and the demonic-rat liberals who run the state, catering to millions of illegals, all unions, and OPEN borders.

I always thought it was weird that there was a Montclair and Clairmont so close to each other.

LOL, I lived in Clairmont while I went to school and never noticed that. (shakes head) I guess it was because a view of the mountains five miles away was a seasonal thing, at best. ;-)

Really? When I was a child I could almost always see the mountains from our house in Chino. Had a great Christmas one year at an A-Frame chalet on Big Bear.

I'll never forget when I flew in to Ontario for my first interview at Harvey Mudd College (it's actually "Claremont"). It was one of those gorgeous winter mornings, with a clear view for a hundred miles. Mt. Baldy was absolutely beautiful with a fresh cap of snow.

I came of the interview out an hour later and I could see the view across the street was hazy and Baldy had disappeared.

One of my captains in my second tour in Korea had graduated from one of the Claremont Colleges, might’ve been Harvey Mudd. He had a PhD in mathematics and his next assignment was as a professor at the USMA (West Point). He may still be there all these years later, since they have tenure, IIRC.

Correct. See post 54. I went to college there. I was working off what 2ndDivisionVet said.
