I read that the Obamas have purchased, or are about to purchase, a multi-million estate in Hawaii. Perhaps there are some machinations being performed to funnel those donations into the real estate transaction.
The Wall Street types aren't stupid, but they are practical, I have a feeling they could see the writing on the wall in 2008 so they supported Obama in hopes that it would mitigate his anti-capitalist views and/or he would feel obligated to go easy on them. Instead he essentially took their money then spit in their face. They learned their lesson, so not only are they not giving to him, they are pouring boatloads into his defeat. In other words, Obama killed the goose that laid the golden egg...
Things have not been going Obama’s way lately ..... he’s appearing decidedly human rather than Messianic and the images are not good. Bad job numbers, fund raising is off, and ‘things’ are starting to “stick” (you didn’t build that, empty chair, etc.) & people are starting to joke, if not outright laugh. The big stadium moment wasn’t going to happen ..... Michelle is NOT happy (family is looking for a house in Hawaii - not going back to Chicago), some slight slippage in adoring media coverage.
Most of all, I think he/handlers/campaign are beginning to realize that the struggle to “hold it together” (economy, etc.) until they can limp across the finish line is a battle they are not winning. There is the realization that Romney is not McCain. Ryan is devastating as a VP candidate.
Of course, the Dems are spinning everything the other way, but the weight of the humongous, outrageous lies and the extreme radicalism of the libs as evidenced by the unreal Star Wars bar scene atmosphere of the convention are catching up. The War on Women meme is failing as Obama slips with women .... and I could go on and on. As someone said, the “new car smell” Obama had has worn off .... he now smells like a vehicle with cigarette smoke-impregnanted upholstery sporting numerous worn spots and rips. Smoke is beginning to issue from the tailpipe and the engine is running rough .... getting the jalopy started is getting harder every day. A trip to the junk yard is on the horizon.
Based upon the very intense debate prep he did during the convention, I would agree. He is not running to lose thank goodness. Now we just have to hope Ryan’s ideas rub off onto him enough.
He just wrote his own campaign a check for $5,000, so Jon Stewart was speculating as to whether or not he asked for a photo of himself with himself.
