Tuesday night at the Democrat National Convention (DNC), former Ohio (did I spell that correctly?) Governor Ted Strickland said, "In Matthew, chapter 6, verse 21, the scriptures teach us that where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Strickland was referring to Mitt Romney's Swiss bank account. He continued, "Governor Romney, just because you bank against the United States of America doesn't mean the rest of us are willing to sell her out. We are Americans."
Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) said on CBS' Face the Nation, "He is the first and only candidate for U.S. president with a Swiss bank account, with tax shelters." That statement may be true (I can't dispute Durbin's research), but Romney closed his Swiss bank account in 2010. Further, Romney says that he has paid all legally due taxes.
We have this attack advertisement, approved by Barack Hussein Obama, which concludes, "It's just what you would expect from a guy who had a Swiss bank account." And this website, full of speculation, says, "We don't know if he's using these accounts [Switzerland included] to avoid paying his fair share in taxes, but we do know that in 2010, Romney's tax rate was a startlingly low 13.9%." There are two obvious problems, for thinking people, with the above statement. The phrase "fair share" is never defined, and nowhere is there an explanation of why "Romney's tax rate was a startlingly low 13.9%."
But you can be assured that the Obama Kool-Aid drinkers will eat up what this website says, since they are not thinking people.
There can be no doubt that Obama and Democrats will make an issue in the 2012 campaign of Romney's Swiss bank account in an effort to distract from his disastrous economic and jobs performance.

This ‘Swiss bank account’ meme will fail because few voters are going to care about Romney’s bank accounts but about their own, which are mostly empty after four years of Obamanomics. Obama can run from his failures but he can’t hide.
I am convinced that Mooochelle’s many ‘vacation trips’ were also to open multiple bank accounts around the world.
They are hedging their bets with having a safe haven to sel-exile themselves to, IMO.
Where does Teresa Heinz Kerry park her billions? We know she and her husband “park” their $7M yacht In Rhode Island to avoid paying MA luxury tax of half a million dollars.
Am I the only person who remembers the Democrats having no problem with the wealth of candidates John Kerry, or John Edwards, or any of the Kennedy’s?
When growing up, I always wanted to make enough money to put into a Swiss account just so I could say that to others. This sounds to me like the Dems have a little envy....
Heck, if I had enough of my own hard earned money left, considering the current state of finances in the US, I’d put it in a Swiss bank account too.
I had an uncle who maintained personal accounts in Switzerland and London. He had a business that required a frequent travel to Europe and the accounts were necessary to transact business there. All the accounts were reported on his tax returns as required by US law.
Let me help. If you've worked, scrimped, followed all of the rules and paid all of your taxes, and still saved anything, the definition of the amount of your fair share to be redistributed is always "More."
"I'll TELL you what's fair and what's not!"
