Gallup: Obama's Job Approval Climbs to 52%; Leads Romney 48% to 45% (Barf alert!!!)

President Barack Obama's job approval climbed to 52 percent in the Gallup poll for the three-day period of Sept. 4 through Sept. 6, which is the highest Obama's approval has been since the three-day period ending June 1, 2011, when it hit 53 percent.

On Sept. 3, the day before the Democratic National Convention started, Obama's approval had been just 45%.

At the same time, Obama picked up ground over Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Last week, according to the Gallup tracking poll of the presidential race, Romney actually lost a point over the course of the Republican National Convention. Romney went from leading Obama 47 percent to 46 percent for the seven-day period that ended on on Aug. 27 to trailing Obama 46 percent to 47 percent for the seven-day period that ended on Sept. 3.

Since Sept. 3, Obama has picked up another point in the Gallup poll while Romney has lost one. Thus, for the seven-day period ending on Sept. 6, Obama led Romney 48 percent to 45 percent.

after the lawsuit threat. Remember the Dems are running the advertisement: “Everyone belongs to the government.”

This is the result and proof.

Also, whether some can admit or not, Mooshell, Clinton and Obama are simply better orators than anything we can put forward right now.

Not quite. We had Newt, who could have given a speech just like Clinton's which dissected the failings of the Obama regime. But the RNC muzzled him. We also have Palin, who gave a tremendous speech last time but was now shut out. Christie certainly could've done a tougher speech...so why didn't the RNC ask him to? And we even have Donald Trump, if you want a real attack dog.

The RNC's strategy has been not to attack Obama "too hard or too much." I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me why that's a good strategy. The "he's a nice guy, but" campaign didn't work too well for McCain. They seem to be operating on some bizarre assumption that independent voters are "moderates" who really like Obama, and will be "turned off" if we attack him. But if anything, moderate voters are so easily manipulated that if you tell them Obama is the devil incarnate, they're likely to believe you and thus vote against him. The Dems know this, which is why their campaigns are built on telling everyone Republicans are the devil incarnate. Of course, this is why they forced Romney on us in the first place.

If Gallup doesn’t come up with good numbers, Chicago thugs will go into action.

The "he's a nice guy, but" campaign didn't work too well for McCain.

You know, I want to agree with you on this. I really do. Most times I would since I have no problem with negative campaigns or a constant attack strategy. But you know what, I personally know so many people that just zone out if you come down too hard on Hussein. The problem seems to be that huge numbers of people STILL have some emotionally attachment to the guy. They WANT to like him. That is a huge advantage Obummer has. In general, the segment of voters we want to reach want to like Obama and they don't want to hear they were wrong about him. It's like some sort of battered spouse syndrome. Maybe no one you know or associate with has fallen under this spell, but I know quite a few people who have and it's made me realize how hard it is for R/R to win this.

I am not saying we shouldn't attack Hussein, we should. I am saying we do have to be careful about how we do it. When people have an emotional attachment to someone, they do not like to be told they were wrong. You have to kinda encourage them to come to their own conclusion. I'm guessing pretty much every focus group is showing this same thing, which is the reason the ads from R/R and the big superPAC's are offering lines like "it's okay to vote for the other guy this time, it really is".

I like Newt a lot and agree he could have given a great speech. I also agree Christie should have been much more of an attack dog. They held him back so much his speech was simply boring. On Palin, I like her but don't agree that she is much of an orator. Charismatic in her own way, yes - but not an orator the way Mooshell, Clinton or Obama are.

I think we agree that the RNC convention sucked though. Spending all that time trying to "humanize" Romney was a waste of time in my opinion. Simple a giant missed opportunity, and part of the reason the floor was so subdued. I mean, that stuff was just boring.

Nice summary, and far more accurate.

I got a call from a pollster about a week ago. It was very odd.

Ring, ring, ring....

Me: “Hello?”

Pollster: “Blah, Blah, ....Did you vote in the 2010 Elections?”

Me: “Yes.”

Pollster: “Is there a female in the house between the ages of 25 & 45 (or something)?”

Me: “Yes.”

Pollster: “Can I speak to her?”

Me: “What? Are you going to ask me how I am going to vote?”

Pollster: “Did the female between the ages of 25 & 45 vote in the 2010 elections?

ME: “Yes.”

Pollster: “Can I speak to her?”

Me: “Hold on.....”

Me in a girls voice: “Hellooooo.”

“Maam, did you vote in the 2010 election.”

Me still in girls voice: “Yes.”

“Thank you. Good Bye.” - Hangs up.

WTF!!!!!!?????? I don’t even know what polling company it was? I sat there stunned. I think I accidentally registered a polling vote for Obama and can’t figure out how.

Mittens and Co. could put a dagger in it..if they would go after Bamster with guns blazing and not be so concerned about alienating “independents”.

I would like to see pix of Hussein smoking dope with that goofy hat in his druggie days(which actually haven’t stopped), him and Ayers with arms around each other, him and Wright..Indonesian student loans..fake birth certificate..brother in a hut...Mooch throwing plates..
Shall I go on?

Chicago tactic require Chicago-like tactics. Don’t throw bean bags at the enemy as they are charging you with guns drawn.
Geez...

Funny, the difference it makes when the federal government threatens to harass you into oblivion if you don’t bow to the only god they allow on their platform.

Well, I can believe he got a bit of a bounce from the convention. It was the same old BS, but it was presented fairly well.

The question is, does this last or will it be short-lived? I suspect it will be the latter. Also, we’re only talking about a couple of points swing. It’s not like Obama suddenly opened up a 10 point lead or something.

In other words, I think this is mostly a blip on the screen. We’re still two months out from the election, and the reality of how bad things are out there will reassert itself in the minds of voters. It’s going to be a fight, but I don’t think Romney/Ryan have any cause to panic over the “bounce.”

Look for more attack ads to start coming out next week, now that the conventions are done by the Mitt PACS.
