If so, here’s something to seriously consider in the voting booth on Nov. 6. In its official 2012 version, the Democratic Party finally scrubbed all recognition of God from its party platform. This was intentional. It was by design. No one should have been surprised. It was a long time coming.
In just the last decade or so, extremist elements within the Democratic establishment have lodged a successful secular-socialist coup. The alarming consequences of this “progressive” triumph have become manifest throughout the pages of the DNC’s 2012 platform. They were also on display at the recent Democratic convention.
Slippery was the slope into Democrats’ anti-theist primordial bog. In 2004, there were seven mentions of God in the platform. In 2008, there was but one.
And in 2012?
None.
Zip, zero, nada.

Yep,you are talking about my in-laws. Two of the most sanctimonious, holier-than-thou people you will meet. But they will crawl over broken glass to vote for obama. I know one thing, they have completely lost their Christian witness as far as I am concerned.

How so? If the Republicans embrace injustice, and conservatives not only tolerate it but demand other conservatives praise the GOPe, not to mention join in prayer with Mormons and other various heretics and/or fakers (as long as they’re Republican), how can we say that we care what God thinks about anything? The enemies of God are running both parties, and they use their vapid, worldly version of religion to appeal to people who have no real discernment. In effect, the GOPe and the conservative movement have only the form of godliness, but possess none of its power.
I find it offensive to even suggest for a single moment that God has anything to do with the GOP or the DNC. We’ve long since passed up when truth, honor and justice was important in who we vote to lead us and in how our party behaves. This is simply a secular battle between two opposing groups of heathens, sociopaths and useful pawns, and the end result will be that God will give us up to being ruled by evil Men, since our trust was in men and not in God.
I’ve come to the same conclusion.
I’m a conservative Christian and I certainly care about what God thinks and I pray for America.
I had a landlord like that; an FDR, depression-era Democrat who has so much pride in the label that he'd rather cut off his right arm rather than deny it. It's sad, because he had to exercise the most breathtaking cognitive dissonance when I talked to him about the facts - even denying that Slick Willie ever had sex with Monica; the Republicans made it all up.
For many of these, it is just that the alternative is so much worse to their thinking, their utterly unfounded brainwashing that the GOP is only for the "rich" and want to squash the poor. They are not so much for abortion and same-sex "marriage," they just pretend, in their cognitive dissonance, that these issues aren't even there at all.
I think you need to take your non-political super sanctimonious self out of this forum - and go post on a strictly religious forum. And we understand that you will vote for Obama while you're at it.
Some of the most God-less people I’ve met are of the libertarian stripe. God-less and anarchist. They really, deep-down, don’t think the rules apply to them. They are the ones who drive 80 mph weaving in and out of traffic on busy freeways, they’re ones who cut in line and take food off of unattended trays (yes, I’ve seen all of this.)

The style of delivery was one of those 'moving finger/moving hand' things ~ which Daniel translated. That's the mene mene tekal upharison ~ which, of course, hasn't ever been translated successfully from known languages ~ therefore it was probably a literary allusion in its time ~ but what he said was the king had been measured and he was losing his kingdom to the Medes and Persians. That was a loss to two other parties ~ and delivered in the context of that convention its a portent of a Democrat loss so bad their party will fracture into little pieces and the TEAParty faction in league with the GOP=e will win it all.
Now, why that very complex message? I think it was a double-header ~ a warning to the Republicans that they're next! The Medes are not really Persians ~ no matter how hard you want them to be, so further fracturing is highly probable.
So, much for metaphysical messages delivered at a convention. It's pretty obvious yet that the Democrats continue to offend God at every step.

Actually I've never seen it before but I recognized it. So, I looked for the contextual subtext and that was in the Dubrovnik city motto.
Too big for a koinkydink so it must be real ~ and it was certainly impressive. Reality sometimes isn't what you think it is.
The Dubrovnik motto suggested the Democrats were a gang of thieves and idiots who'd sold their souls for gold ~ which I think everybody else thinks as well.
So, they'd been measured, and weighed, and judged ~
They didn't pee their pants with fright ~ so it will take more ~ and I fear what will happen to them next.

If you expect any political party to adhere to your own theology, you’d better believe the teachings of a large religious confession move to a country where a sizable majority of the population are at least moderately pious members of your confession. (Jews could move to Israel. Us Orthodox Christians could high-tail it to Greece or Romania if we wanted that. I’m not sure whether you’ve got anywhere to go.)
The point here is that in America we have expected our leaders to be at least “ceremonial deists”, and probably more, to be theists of some sort precisely because our rights come from God, not government, and whether the politician is a Christian you or I would regard as orthodox, a Christian or a sort you or I would regard as heretical, a believing (as opposed to merely ethnic) Jew, a Mormon, or a deist, there is a basis in their creed for that belief. (Notice I exclude Muslim here — the Islamic conception of God, unlike the Jewish, Christian, Mormon or deist, stands in opposition to the notion of human rights.) It is not hypocritical of the GOP to call the ‘Rats on the carpet for transgressing this norm, even if their actions during the RNC were distasteful to conservatives in the ways you enumerate.
Interesting post. I see a lot to agree with. I still can’t get over how I felt, watching the video of the rat convention. I felt like I was seeing a very black-—and a very old-—evil, right there on parade in front of me.
