I agree. By now, we all know who we will vote for. I’ll watch something else.

The Ryan-Biden debates may be more entertaining.

Agreed on “will not watch”. By now, everyone should know what’s at stake in this election. No reason to allow one’s blood pressure to soar watching the Marxists in the MSM officiate either.

All debates moderated by liberals. I hope the R&R Camp.
campaigns are prepared for a bunch of “gotcha” questions and act appropriately.

I would like to see them basically ignore questions of that kind with a simple blowing off of the question by saying the American people aren't watching this debate to hear “gotcha Journalism” quickly followed by an answer to a question not asked but which R&R would like to have had asked such as regarding jobs and the economy, etc.

Romney needs to have Newt prepping him not Portman!

These will be more media-led discussions on free contraceptives, gay marriage, Sandra Fluke’s being “shut out”, rape, how-much-they-love-their-wives, Syria, tax rates on millionaires, tax returns (not college records), Bain Capital, Iraq (um, that war is over), who-is-their-hero (it won’t be Allinsky), how-do-we-unify...

Romney will lose the election if he doesn’t somehow turn every single question back to how Obama has destroyed jobs and decimated the economy, and how to grow again, and how Obama has abused power.

“Thanks for the question, Candy. My answer is “Yes, states can decide who can marry each other. The issue all couples care about is how we reduce our debt as soon as possible...”

I was thinking the very same thing. Smack the moderators around, refuse to answer gotcha questions and tell the viewers what questions should be asked and then answer those. Screw the moderators’ biased questions.

Yep. Neutralize the moderators’ power to pick the fluff and gotcha questions, and then talk about what the voters are really concerned about.

Yes! If Romney does (kindly, calmly) throw each gotcha question back at them, people start watching and he wins.

One gotcha he does need to answer soon: specifics on how to reduce the deficit and cut taxes; which loopholes is he dropping? What’s he cutting? That question is surely coming.

Don’t expect to learn much from the debates ,,, they will look more like an infomercial selling four more years of 0bama . Mitt should do what Newt did ,,, call out the moderators for throwing softballs to 0bama and curves to him . Mitt should tell the moderators what questions to ask the usurper in chief .

“It’s the economy stupid.” Obama has already lost this election. The only question is by how much. You can see it in him, in his campaign and among his supporters. They all know it’s over. As well it should be.

I fear Romney is one of those kind of guys that doesn’t think well on his feet; the type who needs to take time to analyze the intent of the question and research it to be able to provide the best / correct answer. I’m one of those types myself. I think Obama will look better on the debate floor because he’s trigger happy with bs responses because he says what he thinks the American people want to hear not what he really thinks and gives off an aura of confidence. I’m sure he will already have a list of the debate questions and his typical canned responses ready. Public speaking is one of his fortes after all. Hopefully the American people will pick up on this and see that O is not sincere in his reponses per the norm.

He also needs someone who understands who Obama is,weaknesses as well as strengths. The media will play to his strengths, Romney needs to lay bare the weaknesses. Keep Obama off balance, something McCain was too timid to do making himself the weak one. Portman doesn’t strike me as that kind of guy...

Romney was in a boatload of debates during the ridiculous interminable GOP primary “season”. The One hasn’t been in a real debate ever. And his last was against John McCain. Not concerned in the least.

I might watch, but we already know what the verdict will be from the MSM.

The Great and Powerful Obama wins, debate after debate, and the faithful subservient serfs in the media find a wonderful fruity fragrance in the flatulence emitted from the president’s behind...

Watching and listening to the debates is what Sun Tzu would do.

The knowledge we have about these two men will be fleshed out a little by the confrontation and the responses ... something that cannot happen without confrontation.

Even if it is a media ice cream party, there is knowledge to glean.

If for no OTHER reason than to be articulate in FR when we debate, argue or whatever.

I WILL listen to the debates.

If there was a program that could count the times we here in FR said "I heard" or "I saw", or asked, "Did you see" or "Did you hear" during the conventions, I think we'd be surprised at what was gleaned by some but not all, and what kind of interest/comment(s) they generated.

It'll be a great reason for eating massive quantities of popcorn.

I will rely on Rush doing the dirty work of having to watch the debates and conveying the important moments.

The Ryan-Biden debate should be interesting since the moderator is supposed to be a foreign policy wonk, a presumed strength of Biteme.

I, still, predict there will be no debate between DumBO and Mitt. Unless, ZerO has the questions in advance and he will. ObOzO will not be allowed to answer any question he is not scripted for. Given my caveats, my advise to Romney is:

1. Give your answer, no matter what is asked.

2. When jOkeass says you will cut police and firefighters, and, he will, you say those are his choices, I will cut the IRS.

I don’t think the debates will change any minds. They’ll be like a sports event with fans rooting for their candidate, or with some of us who don’t like Romney but like Obama even less, we will be rooting for the other guy to lose.

I’m with you - I would rather he skipped the debates as all it does is see how seasoned a person is in their own rhetoric. It is neither a good indicator of a person’s ability to lead nor an easy place to get across policy. All it does is let the MSM have free shots at the GOP candidate.

LOL - I don’t want you to vote for RP... I was merely pointing out that a Romney/Obama debate will be like a man debating himself: their differences, politically, are minimal. (So, I guess Romney might have an advantage here.)

They’re both socialists and statists, neither one will actually push for government responsibility/accountability much less actually cut government.

I just had this conversation with my wifge and we concluded that Romney (we hope), would relax a lot of regulations that prevent entrepreneurs from starting a business or small businesses from growing / expanding. And THAT expansion would usher in a wave of new prosperity and MIGHT be the economic turnaround we need.

Remember, I said .. we hope.

No one knows what tomorrow will bring, and my wife and I REALLY wanted Newt (after we were assured Sarah wasn't running .. )

When it's all said and done, America is in God's hands

I’ll be watching the debates.

Nothing gives me a “thrill up my leg” quite so much as watching Obummer squirm and stammer and lie when he’s forced to speak without a Teleprompter. Faced with difficult questions (and I trust Romney’s people to draw up some real doozies!), hideous mistakes by Obozo are common and I wouldn’t want to miss them!

The Ryan-Biden debate should be a hoot, too.

The objective for Romney is first of all to establish himself as a viable alternative to Obama. Once the undecideds see that Romney has one head and no horns, Obama is toast. We hope. If not . . .
