The White House announced that it will not meet Friday's deadline to make public what plans it will put into place to deal with the massive defense cuts coming at the end of the year.
The announcement comes shortly after President Obama signed into law the Sequestration Transparency Act that requires him to submit a report to Congress detailing the impact of his 'sequester' on defense and non-defense programs – cuts that were triggered after the so-called Super Committee to come up with a debt deal last year.
White House press secretary Jay Carney said the plans for defense cuts will be submitted to Congress by President Obama late next week. The plans should give insight to which defense bases and cities will be impacted by the defense cuts.
Carney accused Republicans of putting the nation at risk over the defense cuts "because of their insistence on preserving a trillion-dollar tax cut for millionaires and billionaires."

Once Obama is out of the White House, it’s going to take a “Like It Never Even Happened” swat team to get the building clean again.
The Current Regime in the White Hut never intended to come up with any plan for stopping the sequestration of funds for defense. All part of their plan to downsize the military anyway, and also to whine about how “Our military gets no support from Congress!”
Like they would be sincere about it.

The messaging opportunities here are arguably better for O than they are for Romney: On the one hand, he can accuse House Republicans of “holding the military hostage” or whatever in order to prevent tax increases, and on the other, he can point to the fact that Romney’s said he’ll increase military spending as president as proof that Mitt’s not as serious about budget-slashing as he claims to be. Mitt, of course, will helpfully remind America that it was O and his party that wanted defense in the sequestration package to begin with, and that if the cuts end up going through, they own it lock, stock, and barrel.

You know, there's always talk of ‘an October surprise’, and generally I ignore these things (because there's not much to do to prevent them from trying), but I truly believe that the long-term plans and ideological fervor of these people is so intense and entrenched that I put nothing past them. Their goal is a total transformation of American society, with redistribution of wealth and putting policies in place that are designed to homogenize us into a society that conforms to their convoluted concepts of ‘fair’.
They will do pretty much anything to defend and promote their ideology and agenda. They truly are dangerous.

The king is not required to meet any deadlines. He’s too busy making campaign speeches, issuing edicts and golfing.
Relax, the report will be ready the second week of Nov.
Hard to imagine they couldn’t have located the cuts 100% in red states by now.
Maybe they think there’ll be a little swing state blowback anyway.
Bill Clinton did much the same thing which caused Rumsfeld to remark after 9/11..."you go to war with the army you have". Donald Rumsfeld caught a lot of flack from the Dems and the press for the remark...however, he was Oh So Correct. It took time and money to rebuild our forces.

True about killing PBS. Especially when there are now educational channels like “the learning channel”, “sprouts”, “the history channel” and such to replace it.
