McCain took Duvall by a scant 1% in 2008. 192k to 197k, and the gimme dat welfare crowd has expanded mightily in North Florida in the last four years. If you don’t think R2 needs to fight for every vote your not accounting for the effect of the growth the entitlement crowd.

In the grand scheme of things 0bama is sabotaging America. WHERE'S THE OIL PIPELINE? WHERE'S CONGRESS INPUT INTO 0BAMA'S TYRANNICAL DECISIONS? WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR FREEDOMS?

If the kids knew 0bama will seize full control over INTERNET CONTENT, that might wake them up a bit. It's difficult to overcome years of labor union-controlled teachers intentionally dumbing-down students so they'll become Socialists who vote 'Democrat'.

Stupid people I get, there have always been stupid people here, wanting their free handouts and listening to whatever celebrities like the Kardashians tells them to do, that has always been the case here, what I dont get is the Jews..I am Jewish, my family immigrated here from Israel in the mid 60s. My uncle and aunt voted for Obama in 2008, this year they are voting for Romney. They know that Romney is good for Israel and that Obama is a disaster. I just dont understand how Jews living in this country, supposedly caring about Israel and its existence, would vote for a guy who wants to destroy it.

Yup, this is the Gallup organization the Obama Administration threatened to sue, if they didn’t change their polling numbers.

That’s why I fear higher unemployment numbers actually help Obama....unemployed people think the Republicans will reduce their unemployment benefits.

My recollection of how Romney handled all his primaries for the Republican primary is that he would wait until a few weeks before and then carpet bomb the airwaves with his political ads. I'm assuming he'll be using the same method against Obama.

Right now Romney had money to burn and Obama is running out. The attention span of most Americans is 2 minutes. Why spend money now? Wait to use it effectively.

Kids want free toys, but yeah if they knew that Obama wants to seize full control over the Internet that might wake them up, but when it all comes down to it, they want free goodies, whatever they can get their hands on for free they want it. They think Obamacare is awesome, yay free health care, what can be bad right. They should go to Canada and see how “awesome” socialized medicine is maybe they would wake up, but when someone hears “Free” thats all it takes. Free health care, free gas, free phones, what they dont get is that someone else has to pay for it, WE ALL end up paying for it but they dont care, its free to them

Obama has 47.4 million potential votes from food stamps. Then he has 95% of African-American votes...they are against racial bigotry, of course.

Then you add 25 million or so on permanent disability, free Medicaid, free breakfasts and lunches in school, rent subsidy, heat subsidy, free translators accompany you to any medical facility if you do not speak English, free birth control pills and condoms, and God alone knows what else.....it is a miracle Romney is still in contention.

Obama’s getting a pass because yesterday did you see or hear ONE speech or comment from Romney or Ryan slamming the jobs report? The media would HAVE to cover that. So did they go on the attack about it?

I guess you missed this as well as several other stories.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2928130/posts

In Nevada, Paul Ryan says Obama is good at giving speeches, bad at creating jobs

Washington Post Friday, September 7, 2:13 PM Felicia Sonmez

SPARKS, Nev. — Seizing on a new jobs report that showed the pace of the country’s economic recovery remains sluggish at best, Paul Ryan on Friday argued that the best way to turn around America’s fortunes is to put a new president in the White House.

Flanked by six red, white and blue truck cabs and with a rugged mountain backdrop behind him, Ryan told a crowd of several hundred people at a trucking equipment company just outside of Reno that the jobs report was “some pretty disappointing news.” Why are you so quick to tell LIES to attack out side? What the hell is wrong with you?

Yes, and as of last July, the unemployment rate in Duval County was 9.5%. Obama’s not going to make up any ground there from 2008.

Ideally, you’d want to run ads in every market, encouraging your base to come out. But there’s only a fixed amount of money to spend. So in areas you’re going to win (like North Florida), you do a lot of grassroots campaigning - you get the county GOP organizations involved to register more Republicans and get them out to vote.

I would not look at 2008 figures because :

1. Crist let open the flood gates for voter fraud with non stop early voting and we know why he did that now !
2. FL cleaned up all of its voting rolls
3, the new voter id laws are in effect now.

Good bye massive Acorn voter fraud in Fl in 2012.

“If Communism is what people want, I dont know what more to say.”

A lot of people want to retain and guarantee their government perks. They will vote self interest regardless of the impact on the economy. The best way to get this huge segment of our society to vote is the scare them, convince them that “those other guys want to take away what I’ve given you.” Also they have been convinced that profits are evil. They will vote to regulate and confiscate business profits. Free money rules. Even though their beliefs reflect their Marxism, they do not care.

I’m sorry, but large percentages of Jews have been associating themselves with the left for many generations now - both here in the States, in Europe and elsewhere. Not 100% sure of all the reasons for this phenomenon, but they seem to fear the majority religion wherever they live and work to support secular governments and laws to restrain religion. Jews are very active in the ACLU, People for the American Way, etc. Unless Obama nukes Israel or something blatant like that, he is going to get 75% of the Jewish vote. While I very much support Israel, pursuing the Jewish demographic is a waste of the Republicans time. They aren’t going to win it no matter what they do because they can’t “out-secular” the Democratic Party.

Regarding the “carpet bombing”.. have you seen the ads Romney is running in the swing states? They are generic milquetoast. It is carpet bombing with marshmallows.

Specific programs, ok, but if the Romney people do not step up and get more aggressive with their messaging they are missing a huge opportunity.

50% voter preference. The theory being that an incumbent is already known to the voters and that the so-called "undecideds" are withholding their vote because a.) they are less than satisfied with the incumbert and are b.) actively considering the challenger.

As a consequence, the vast nmajority (2/3 or more) of "undecideds" will break toward the challenger once they are forced into making a decision.

Thus, an incumbent who cannot muster a 50% share of voter preference is unlikely to ever reach that level -- and will likely lose.

I agree.

People need to remember that Dukakis had a 17 POINT LEAD in the Gallup poll after the 1988 Dem convention. And our candidate that year was George Bush I, not a strong candidate. Sort of a Romney-esque guy.

Just google “Dukakis 17 point lead” if people don’t believe this.

6) The entitlement class has grown during the recession. Many people in their 50’s, the natural conservative constituency, have lost jobs in this recession and cannot find comparable replacements or jobs at all. They are now dependents of the state and will vote accordingly for self survival.

In itself, that point could be the game-changer. The welfare class is less of a political threat than you might think because of their entitlement mentality. They're convinced they have the right to welfare while doing nothing in exchange. That "nothing" includes getting off the couch and voting Democrat.

That entitlement mentality is the likely cause of the low turnout rates in the welfare culture. They're so sure they're entitled, many of them don't vote their interest because they see no need to.

On the other hand, a guy in his 50s who needs the assistance is more likely to pull the lever for the (D) to show he's not an ingrate. Believe it or not, your Republic may be saved by entitled ingrates who get the idea that voting Dem in exchange for their benefits is beneath them

In 2008, Obama won the independents by 8 points.

If Romney is really 15 points ahead with independents at this time, and maintains that margin through November 6th, then Romney is the 45th president of these United States.
