Clinton, billy boy is going to be in FL for obambi. Can tell you that this will not do well for obambi. The state is reeling from Charlie Cristitis, and his unbelievable BS. Jeb Bush has much influence there, well liked and is stumping there. Then to have bill clinton come in... well he is going to do things to help hillary’s try, and that means little bombs on obama and his biiiiig mouth will out this.

FL: NASA sold out and pissed at obama- lot of engineers serving icecream, Senator Bill Nelson getting his butt kicked by Connie Mack IV, Charlie Crist...say no more (his pic is on ambulance chaser trial lawyer/drunk slob John Morgan—and it is everywhere and people hate Crist, Morgan of course hosted NBA Orlando Magic players for obambi— one more “connection” mobbed up). The bellwether is the I-4 corridor— they go for Romney it’s done. Panhandle same way, and Jacksonville/Tampa. Miami, S of West Palm— well the Jewish vote is important and the Cuban-Americans run a lot of things there. And this non recognition of Jerusalem— not going over well at all. The Catholic vote of true devout Catholics is NOT going to obama.

Just my read, and a ramble based on fair amount of time there.

Time to CALL IT A NIGHT TROLL !

LOL! Yeah. I'm a troll... who will crawl over broken glass to vote out Obama.

What I am is very concerned that Romney is running a McCain 2.0 campaign. I am sick to my stomach to see Obama leading this close to the election with his disastrous record. I'm stunned.

Agreed. In general they should not be resting on their laurels. This should be a lambasting, full out, organized and directed. Respectful of the voters (factual about obama, and include Clint Eastwood’s empty chair) but directed and persistent.

Drudge may be about that. He’s in FL btw and there are a lot of MA retirees there who, except for the dem slugs, liked Romney in MA.

I didn’t follow either convention closely. But I did hear the booing live while I was driving and listening to Hugh Hewitt. I don’t think people are unaware how leftist the DNC was. Voters certainly knew how leftist it was in 1972. If the majority of voters are unaware of what was happening at the DNC there is no real hope we can reach them.

Exactly!

Most noteworthy in your #8 is the Wisconsin Recall. Our win here was huge for many reasons.

First, the Dems and Unions were working overtime dumping huge stashes of cash and ads to beat Walker. Oh yes, and lets not forget, they were more than likely registering dead folks and felons.

Secondly, the Republican base was energized to combat this bogus recall. I still think the Dems and Unions are in complete and utter shock by this defeat of the Recall.

I believe Wisconsin is a microcosm of this next presidential election.

FUBO!

Driving back where I am tonight, caught a Phila radio station with report on voter ID in PA and how one city councilman a uh, “Kenyatta Johnson” was pumped up from being at the DNC and a voice quote from him about “we got’s to be organized in the trenches and make sure people vote”....

So it is good to fight them. A campaign is like a battle-planning is find and dandy— it takes execution to succeed and mobility and rapid response.

Exactly... They are running their big buy in the swing states and the ads are really vanilla.

I think it’s risky not to be more ideological. This country is center-right, and Obama is a hard leftist. Attacking is policies which is pure far left liberalism is not personally attacking Obama himself (if that’s what they are scared of). That’s how the Tea Party won in 2010. They framed Obama for what he is - a radical leftist.

The R&R campaign is not McCain 2.0. This campaign is a whole different thing from four years ago. I know both.

The R&R campaign hasn't even kicked into full gear. I'm in Virginia, a battle ground state, and the yard, 4’x4’, and 4’x8’ signs aren't even fully available yet thanks to McCain-Feingold (couldn't be legally printed since they weren't the party's nominees). Now is when the spending flood gates will open by the campaign. Even the Dim biased polls are showing the race here tied. It isn't - and won't be as we go into November.

I have been more pro Romney, pro pragmatic, than most Freepers around here, letting his liberal past slide for the greater good (getting rid of Obama). So you need to get a clue. Or look at my 5 year history.

I am concerned in a day with all the polls showing Obama (with the economic train wreck) pulling away. You bet your butt I am going to pissed at the strategy.

BTW. Romney advisors/team keep an eye on FR. So if they see concern, maybe they’ll pick up their game.

I think Zero is worse than a Carter 2.0, but we don't have gas lines and we don't have a hostage crisis in Iran, so most voters probably don't quite see it that way. With that in mind, Romney's polling seems to compare well with Reagan's.

If the Romney campaign wanted to leak bogus unfavorable poll information and wanted it published, would they have their contacts with Politico leak it, or have their contacts with Breitbart leak it?

Its pretty obvious what this poster has been up to.

The trolls pulling alot of overtime in Chicago astroturfing like concerned trolls.

Axelrod created astroturfing and the key is keep the drip drip drip impact of non stop negative spin, lies, and push poll s.

This was a Axelrod coordinated hit piece/poll moves nicely right after the convention.
Axelrod and his pals at Politico along with nicely timed push polls from their pals at Gallup and Reuters.
Ras odd polling was just a nice bonus.

An excellent point. I should have been more clear in my post - I think Obama enjoys an organic advantage due to incumbency and because he is black - many swing voters who fell for the Hopenchange will be loathe to turn out its bearer.

However, Romney can, and I feel confident, will, overcome those advantages. That sinking feeling we're experiencing around here comes from painful experience with McCain's dreadful campaign. Mitt Romney is no McCain, has the money to get his message out, and wants to win. I believe he will.

The fact that some people believe Politico says more about them than it does Politico.

There are certain people who live to be disappointed.

Admittedly, one problem that we conservatives have is that we have so little faith in the ability of the Republican party to win elections. Or, once elected, represent our interests.

The GOP-e seemingly works overtime with the express goal of disappointing us.

Nonetheless, the Politico was the shallowest of political propaganda and should be awarded no credibility whatsoever.

And, yet, some FReepers bought it. Which disappoints me...

The only thing that disturbs me is that Romney’s ads are so vanilla and not timed correctly.

I will give you an example from today. I am in Virginia and was watching the UVA-Penn State game from the Richmond ABC affiliate. Before kickoff, there were two Obama ads specifically attacking Romney. Several more Obama ads ran during the first half.

At halftime, the first ad was the vanilla Romney 30 second spot. I almost missed it as I was heading to the bathroom. Terrible timing for an ad. Then, there was another Romney ad at the end of halftime. But how many people are sitting around watching this ad at halftime? Why nothing right at kickoff, when everyone IS watching?

Why nothing right at kickoff, when everyone IS watching?

You needn't worry about that.

Political ads are purchased opportunistically and rotated within programming.

Next week's game, e.g., will have Romney in the prime positions and Obama's at halftime.

The stations/networks can't manipulate this rotation to favor one candidate over another -- without risking their license. And there are people who are charged with keeping score...

I'm in Virginia too and strangely enough, I haven't even seen a single Barry ad today, but I didn't watch the UVA game. I have seen a number of anti-Barry (AFP) and R&R adds though. I also note that Romney was in at least Norfolk and Richmond NASCAR with the Governor and other elected officials today.

I can only surmise that, like many of us, he is getting annoyed with the weak tea campaign being run by Team Romney and maybe trying to light a fire under them.

I believe Drudge is pushing the Gallup poll for one reason - as the Gallup numbers go down he can push the "Obama is losing slowly but surely when he should be ahead" memo.

Excellent post, take a bow! :) Might I add that Mitt indeed wants to WIN. He is a biz man who has prepared his whole life for this race with no interest in the D.C. cocktail party Sunday talk show circuit. As for these polls, we will have two months of these crazy numbers...frankly, I prefer they show Mitt down so we fight harder and stop at nothing to get out the vote.

I agree with you - that Romney will win Virginia - and Allen too. The blue dogs and independents aren’t buying Barry this time and the campaign and party are much better organized than four years ago. Plus most of the elected officials are Republican this time - and more money is being raised by them than Barry.

My fear isn’t that Romney is running a Dole or McCain type campaign. Romney is a much better candidate that either. Dole was reduced to “Where is the outrage” and McCain suspended his campaign. The problem isn’t the GOP e either. It’s 50 years of unrestrained immigration and 50 years on NEA education. The American people are liberals now. If Romney loses I don’t want to hear thoses fools Limbaugh and Hannity tell me this is a center right country and tell me people oppose obamugabe care.

In 1980 America was 85% white. Today it’s 65% white. Romney is getting 60% of the white vote. If the demographics were the same today
as in 1980, Romney would be at 51% (.85x.60) without a SINGLE black or Hispanic vote. There is our problem. Not Romney not the GOP e not the media not being too conservative or not conservative enough. It’s too few whites and a millenial generation raised on Marxism.

Whatever you think about Romney’s politics, you have to admit he ran a shrewd and very aggressive campaign in the primaries. Without question the Romney campaign knows what they’re doing and they’re playing to win.

That DNC was a God-hating, vagina-loving circus with a duplicitous yet effective Clinton speech. I watched 0bama’s speech and it was sub-par for him. Even the leftist media agreed. The DNC changed nothing about the fundamentals of this race.

The economy stinks rotten and that’s the issue that underpins the next 2 months. Sit tight and stop panicking!

This is the key part of the story buried in the middle.

“Romney, armed with more dismal jobs numbers, will run a one-size-fits-all campaign, wrapped around the message that the economy is bad, Obama is to blame, and that change of leadership is absolutely essential. The Republican plan rests heavily on Romney’s capacity to bury Obama with negative ads — and reap the benefits of his billionaire backers hitting the president even harder, and more relentlessly. This, more than anything else, alarms the high command in Chicago.”

The Romney campaign has not even started to run the negative economy ads blaming Obama yet.Let’s face it.In reelection battles with a dismal economy, it is all about the incumbent not the challenger. When Romney wins it will because most folks will not so much have voted for Romney as against the incumbent. That is the purpose of the negative ad campaign. How many of you have seen concentrated negative ads on the economy in your areas. Very few because Romney does not want to play his strong suit until
the later stages of the campaign where he wants it to be concentrated in the end game leaving the incumbent little time to rebut it.
