Al Gore lives alone now, in a 10,000-square-foot colonial in Nashville, where magnolia trees shade the house and geothermal wells buried beneath the driveway cool and heat its 20 rooms.
Some weeks Gore heads to San Francisco, where he has a luxury apartment at the St. Regis tower, to work on venture capital projects or visit his new girlfriend. And some nights he checks into the Regency in New York, where three of his children live.
At 64, even after accumulating more than $100 million in wealth, Gore races like a man making up for lost time: blog posts to write, business deals to close, a global climate to save.
Tipper Gore lives alone now, too, and at a gentler pace - the pace she wanted when the Gores separated in June 2010.
She divides her time between their $9 million seaside villa near Santa Barbara and her maternal family home in Arlington, Va., near her 89-year-old father. She, too, is in New York often and is also working (selling her photography through her website) and dating someone new.
The couple reunites a few times a year, most recently in June, for summer family vacations and Christmases in the Gore family seat of Carthage, Tenn.
They gather at the old farm and lake where Gore's father, a congressman and senator, had once dreamed about his son becoming president. Back then the Gores had the makings of a political dynasty, and the paterfamilias, Albert Gore Sr., certainly held that ambition.
But hard times happen. Reckonings occur. And dynasties require both continuity and a next generation. The four Gore children, having been raised in the hothouse of Washington, want nothing to do with it.
The oldest, Karenna Gore Schiff, an adviser to Gore during his 2000 presidential campaign, has struggled..

And no matter where that is for the Gork, there'll always be times he can't get this sound out of his miserable, deceitful, scamming 'soul' :
Get Out ! Get Out ! Get Out of Cheney's House ! ! !
The algore family bizness is peddling bulls#it, amazing none of his spawn want to follow in his footsteps.
EXCERPT — <<<<<<<<”If the couple were still involved in politics, they probably would not have split up, several friends said. The Gores, in turn, felt free to pursue independent lives as their priorities diverged.
The decision to separate was mutual and did not involve a betrayal like infidelity, according to friends. Rather, they said, the 63-year-old Tipper Gore had wanted their lives to ease up, more time to enjoy the fruits of their labors.”>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You are quite right that the Gores need Christ. They, despite having four children, are splitting up for shallow, materialistic reasons. “Til death do we part” means nothing to liberal Democrats like the Gores.
Al Gore, back when campaigning, would ask audiences, what would Jesus do? Well, Jesus certainly wouldn’t endorse a mockery of marriage like this.
I would guess a 100 million dollars would make it easy to be at ease. Being able to avoid the grubby “little people” would help too.
Gore’s house is in Monticeto, California, an very exclusive city. There are estates with private polo fields. Jonathan Winters, Oprah, several retired movie stars, also live there.
The public news about their separation emerged after a woman hired to give AlG a massage in his hotel room, complained that Gore wanted his “fifth chakra” massaged.
Then another woman (NYC) went public telling about Al’s efforts to elicit a “fifth chakra” massage from her.
Tipper had enough public humilation to finally ditch the impotent one.
What about Al Gore III (IV), the son with several drug possession arrests? What’s he doing and for how long?
* A "decline and fall" is now defined as making $100 million dollars?
* If politics is in the past, why is Gore descibed in the article described as headlining the Current TV coverage of the 2 political conventions?
He seems wired to always be thinking about what he could potentially do to
save the world.destroy America.
