LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Louisville man accused of opening fire at a homeowners association meeting, killing one and critically wounding another, was ordered held on $1 million bail Saturday at an initial court hearing where a prosecutor called him "the epitome of danger to the community."
A not guilty plea was entered on behalf of 55-year-old Mahmoud Yousef Hindi to charges of murder, assault and wanton endangerment in the Thursday evening shooting at a church.

Another Amish guy?? What's up with that?
Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure records online show that Hindi was licensed in 2001 to practice nuclear medicine and list a Mayfield address for him. The records say the license expired in February 2008. The records say Hindi graduated from medical school at the University of Jordan, Amman, in 1982.
It could not be determined if Hindi was currently licensed to practice medicine elsewhere. Online records for the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine show he had been licensed in that state but the license had expired in 2009.

I have the feeling he entered a not guilty plea because his lawyer will argue that he was “bullied” by the HOA because of his ethnicity/religion. He was “driven” to this deed because of intolerant Americans (/s tag... )
If this were Bill Johnson at a Mosque, Blitzer, Obamugabe and Holder would have their next Trayvon.
Gotta say, I have mixed feelings about someone shooting up a HOA meeting.
Shamefully, that was my first thought. Shooting up a HOA comes close to my definition of justifiable homicide.
“Gotta say, I have mixed feelings about someone shooting up a HOA meeting.”
Isn’t that the fricking truth! Talk about your little bunches of pipsqueak Nazis! At least half of these people would be vying to head the SS in the formative years of Nazi Germany.
Ya think this shooting will have a salutatory effect of any other HOAs? Naaaaah. Too arrogant and too stupid.

If you don’t want to be under an HOA, then don’t buy a house in one simple. Whining about something you have total control over is counterproductive.
“... mixed feelings about someone shooting up a HOA meeting”.
I have a friend who had purchased (notice the past tense) a house in what was defined as a “limited” HOA. She wanted to repaint her front door the same white color it had been. She had to supply three white paint samples to get approval for the color. Time passed and still no answer. By the time she did get an answer, it was three months later and nearing January (not the best time to paint an exterior door). She decided to wait until the Spring but learned she had to re-submit the request with three paint samples. The part of the story that made her almost lose her mind: she got a letter in February of that year advising her that her front door needed painting and was not attractive appearing to the neighborhood. A “for sale sign” was in her front yard not soon afterwards.
That is what I was thinking. Nervy bunch of nose buds... asking for shootin’.
Shooting the nosey neighbors with more power than they should have works, too. It’s the nature of the beast. Boss your neighbors around and harass at your own risk, too. That’s life. Fair, too.

As a builder so have I.
“If you dont want to be under an HOA, then dont buy a house in one simple.”
Yea right just up and move. A hand full of clowns decide to
create a HOA and only notify the home owners that are likely
to support it. Then one day, after being a resident for 15
years, you are notified that the birdbath in your front
yard is not compliant. Your choices. Take the birdbath down,
loose your property in a lawsuit or move. No recourse. They
say, you do.
In my many experiences with HOA’s, most are ok but some
are just plain control freaks. Some have gone as far as
trying to force their personal preferences on the
internal layout and decor of a room addition. Some even
think of it as their own little fiefdom complete with
preferred contractors, lawn services, etc. adding to and
sometimes doubling the cost.
Yea you can just drag your kids out of school, drive
further to work and move because some jackass doesn’t like
the manger scene you put on your front lawn at Christmas.
Just move, it’s as easily said as done.
Well there is also another choice. Become a member of the HOA board. That’s what I did when I had problems.
YES!!
It's SELDOM all that hard to get on the board.
This shooting occured about 2 miles from my house. Several people from my church were attending a soccer game at that location when it happened.
I hate HOA's as much as the next person... but, nothing they do is EVERY worth killing someone. Seriously? no.... NOT the answer.
