U.S. Sen. John McCain says he is disappointed with his party's presidential candidate for sidestepping world affairs in his campaign for the White House, but reserves his most scathing words for the current dweller, blaming Barack Obama for inaction while the situation in Syria and elsewhere "cries out for American leadership."

In an interview with The Associated Press in Italy on Saturday, the 2008 Republican presidential candidate criticized the man who won that election for not aiding rebels in Syria, abandoning Iraq and Afghanistan, and delaying tough decisions on Iran's nuclear program.

"In a way it's almost like watching a train wreck," he said of the apparent failure to stem Iran's nuclear efforts. …

If only that little NVA surface-to-air missile guy had been a better shot, and spared America the following 35 years of treason, insanity and duplicity.

Everywhere the 'rebels' have shown up in Syria their first order of business has been to kill or drive off the remaining Christians, and more recently to round up the Shi'ites and kill them.

McCain knows that.

Obama may have an affiliation with the Shi'ites, although it's pretty clear by now he doesn't care what happens to Christians in the Middle East.

If this loon had been elected, we'd have troops on the ground in Georgia fighting the Russians. Throw a net over him.

McCain remains the only ex-military man I know who is ready to commit American forces at the drop of a hat -- before he even knows which side they should be on. If either...

I applaud his military service. But, as for his subsequent public service, I'm inclined to believe the country would've been better off without him.

I’m inclined to believe the country would’ve been MUCH better off without [McCain].

I can respect that point-of-view. I voted for the SOB in 2008...but it was, by far, the most distasteful vote I've ever cast.

In contrast, it will be much easier to vote for Romney this time around than it was for McCain in 2008.

He did say we had “nothing to fear from an Obama Administration”.

I will repeat myself, “STFU, McLame!”

John - when the gray headed woman at the rally in 2008 asked you point blank if there was ANYTHING TO FEAR from Barack Hussein Obama as President of the United States; you hemmed and hawed and endorsed Obama (a totally unqualified FRAUD). NOW you tell us, a day late and a dollar short. Such a courageous pronouncement, but, spare me.

I am glad world affairs are taking a back seat. The deficit, economy, and tyranny at home are the pressing issues. We don't need to go looking for more.

Don’t be so glad. Plenty of rogue nations (and empires) abroad that are happy that our eye is off them. That said, McCain’s policies on that are not those to be followed.

Funny how the left works. If you’re in the party that they want to Emmanuel-Goldsteinize, even doves are suddenly hawks.
