Scott Van Duzer, the Obama hugger: Shop facing boycott

The owner of a Florida pizza shop says people are boycotting his business because he bear-hugged President Barack Obama on Sunday.

“People are saying a lot of bad things and boycotting my restaurant,” Scott Van Duzer, 46, told POLITICO. “There’s no middle line anymore, and that’s exactly what’s wrong with our country right now.”

The owner of Big Apple Pizza & Pasta Restaurant in Fort Pierce, Fla., said that both Democrats and Republicans are welcome in his store. But he also said he thinks Mitt Romney’s running mate Rep. Paul Ryan — whose sculpted abs are thanks to intense P90X training sessions — would lose to the president in a workout battle.

If it wasn't a set up the SS would have had him on the ground. Only ignorant people would believe the whole thing.

It is clear to many on the right that the Black Jesus is running in a way that will allow him to capture 99% of the STUPID People's vote on Nov 6, 2012. My question is how large is the STUPID vote population and how many will actually go out and vote for this moron another time?

We actively and openly mocked liberals. We catered exclusively to likeminded people.

We had great success and were second only to NASCAR.com on the internet in motorsports sites during the 97-2001ish era.

So no. We did not cater to, nor want the money or advertizing of liberals. We played by our rules and we all made a good living from it. I left in 2001 so I don’t have any input on what happened later, but when I was there, that’s how we played the game.

Maybe Obama is some special case, and all these “never support a supporter” applies only to this specific person.

******************************************************
And that about covers it.
There is no room in my life for anyone who believes in Obama. Our nation is on the brink of being ruined by this man & his policies so yes, I feel pretty strongly about it.

Sorry, Artur Davis was one of the national co-chairs for Obama’s 2008 campaign. Still a bigger f*cking deal (pardon my Bidenism) than a dough tosser.

But in general, there’s no way America survives if the entire economy is driven by people spending money based on politics. No way that’s what the founders envisioned. Can’t imagine Thomas Jefferson refusing to do business with supporters of his political opponents

When Chrissie Hynde performed at a 3-band concert I went to one time she asked the audience, "are there any meat eaters in the house tonight? I HOPE YOU ALL CHOKE ON IT!!!"

Think I should continue to fund a batsh!t crazy liberal who decided to insult a majority of the audience I paid to be in?

Ted Nugent was famously banned from this same venue (at a earlier concert) for saying "if you are in America, you should speak English". Chrissie never was banned for her own abusive comments to the crowd.

I don't litmus test every business or artist, but some are downright obnoxious about their views.

Couldn't see giving a dime to a treasonous trust fund Communist like Jane Fonda.

Yup.

In a truly free market, we don’t have to do business with anyone we choose not to. And before someone says “What about Black people”...

Same arguement as for gays. Black people do not choose to be black. Nor is anyone born a liberal. There is no comparison.

Liberals willingly work to destroy America and by giving them our money, hiring them etc, we finance and empower our own demise. There is no way to argue around that FACT, though many seem determined to try. If enough of us feel this way, our businesses thrive while libs eat crap. That’s the way a free market works. If we fail, same thing. But at least we are not cutting our own throats for ‘profit’ and deluding ourselves that we are somehow not doing what our actions show we are.

I think bromances fall into the same homosounding guy friendships as “man crushes” (like Chrissy Matthew’s tingle up his leg for Obama).

But it can be two dudes who have to watch football on tv together “bro”.

He was probably all in favor of that boycott, just not this one.

I read a number of the replies on this thread and it seems that the owner has been a guest to the white hut. There is no way this was anything but a staged photo op. I hope they both fail.

my thoughts too.

Staged event and it gets all this attention, but the congressman which introduced jug ears in the 2008 convention and now has switched parties because his old party has gone way off the scales to the left never gets a mention.

Not much to figure out on this setup.

Unless this was preplanned... the moment anyone would bear hug and pick up the President of the United States the Secret Service would instantly be all over him.

Look at the picture in the article itself and I'm sure you'll conclude the same.

Oh yea, it was definitely staged for the MSM so they’d have a “heartwarming story about regular-guy Obama”.

It’s as genuine as the hacked-together “birth certificate” the White House “released” online.
