CALLS were made today for Andy Murray to be honoured after he became the first British male for 76 years to win a tennis Grand Slam as he was crowned champion at the US Open. The 25-year-old Scot made history by beating Novak Djokovic in a thrilling five-set match at Flushing Meadows in New York.

It was an awesome match. Men’s tennis is now a 4-way battle for the top.
Congrats to Andy Murray and Scotland.
It will be a British honour. He’s been supported by the whole of the UK in this and he has been representing Britain, not just Scotland.
Interesting fact here is that in 1996, he was one of the kids who narrowly missed being slaughtered by the madman Thomas Hamilton during the Dunblane Massacre.
