$4 Billion in 4 Years: Federal Subsidies to Chicago Schools By Terence P. Jeffrey September 11, 2012

(CNSNews.com) - Taxpayers in places as divergent as Florida and Montana, Nevada and New Hampshire, Arizona and Maine--as well as their children who will eventually need to pay the interest on the federal government's growing debt--may not think they have a stake in the Chicago teachers strike, but in fact the budgets of the Chicago Public Schools show that American taxpayers everywhere have literally billions at stake in what goes on in this one city's public school system.

Over the past four years, the Chicago public schools have churned through total revenues of approximately $20.27 billion and about $4.26 billion of that revenue—or almost 21 percent of it—has come from the federal government.

That is $4.26 billion the federal government has either taken from Americans in federal taxes or has borrowed and added to the national debt.

In fiscal 2009, according to the White House Office of Management and Budget, the U.S. Department of Education spent $53.389 billion. In 2010, that climbed to $92.858 billion, then in 2011, it dropped to $65.484 billion. This year, according to OMB, Department of Education spending will hit an historical high of $98.467 billion.

In fiscal 1989, the last year that President Reagan was in office, the U.S. Education Department spent $21.468 billion, according to OMB. Even adjusted for inflation, that would only be $39.664 billion this year. That means, that since 1989 the Department of Education spending has grown by almost 150 percent in inflation-adjusted dollars (from $39.664 in 2012 dollars to $98.467 in 2012 dollars).

Subsidizing all those teachers who can't and don't teach is expensive.

You can bet the politicians will be looking for ways to steal the 401k savings of the non-government retirees to fund the bloated benefits of the government retirees. The former group has nobody to defend them. The latter has politicians and unions feeding at the trough.

YEP -- they have had plenty of practice doing so over the years with Social Security.

The newspapers are slanting the news again. From what I’ve seen, those teachers are not walking the picket line—they’re waddling the picket line.

They’re nationalizing 401k’s in stealth mode.

Check your 401k plan. If it doesn’t have a “cash option”, find out what the “safe harbor” investment is made up of.
More likely than not, it’s made up of US Treasury bonds.

If you try to go “safe” in your 401k, then, you’re supporting the bonds that the fedgov is borrowing against.

Taxpayer => Fedgov => Subsidies to “schools” => Teachers’ Unions => Democrat campaign donations

Since he never talks about it I must assume Romney is a big fan of the Department of Education.

Speaking of Chicago I was messing messing around this past Saturday night and ran across a way to listen to the Chicago PD police dispatcher. I have been listening to scanners since I was a kid but I have never heard anything like what I heard from Chicago. It is sickening! Every other call was about a BM in hoodie doing this or a BM in a hoodie with a gun, shots fired, etc.

Romney needs to take some of this audio and make a big deal out of this by asking the people of Chicago “Are you better off today than you were 4 years ago?”. Take it right to the Chicago political punks.

I mean really, this is America! If you listen to the Chicago Police dispatchers it is sad. People should not be living like this in Amwerica! I don’t care if these people are mostly black, brown or whatever! Somebody has to try to do something about this war zone the call Chicago. Go to this site at just about any time or check it out on a Saturday night and see what I mean. This is amazing! And nobody is paying attention to it in the media! Nobody!

CNS submitted an incomplete work, this is just mind numbing numbers. They need to tie this to some scame that the union and the politicians are perping, then it will go viral. People understand scams, numbers not so much.
