But wouldn’t it be unfair for those who are not yet in the US, to not be included in this amnesty, therefore I propose totally open boarders, no laws regarding immigration, and special benefits for those not yet honored to be called US citizens.

Illegal aliens are government growth hormone.

30 million illegals is enough to create some 50 congressional districts and they don’t even need to vote to do it. If they do vote then those districts will be almost exclusively democrat.

Now think about it. How much does it cost to administer a congressional district? How much pork does the average congressman seek/ How many earmarks?

You are living in a dreamworld. It ain’t gonna happen.

The best we can do is STOP new illegals and assimialte the ones here who are worthwhile hardworking people.

Keep the wheat, kick out the chaff.

The term “Latinos” moves the argument from legality to race. As soon as you buy into the premise that “Latinos” are the problem, you have lost the argument. It is not about race, it is about legality.

“Ronald Reagan saw it, even if alleged ‘Reaganites’ don’t. He signed amnesty into law in 1986, inviting three million ‘illegals’ to become ‘legals.'

The '86 Amnesty was supposed to be a "one time only deal". We were finally going to get serious about enforcement.

The '86 amnesty was supported by the Republican leadership, signed into law by a republican President, - and has been paying dividends for the DNC ever since; - at the local, state, and federal level.

B-1 Bob Dornan's congressional district, a district that he had represented for eleven consecutive terms, has now become a democratic stronghold.

Bowyer is clueless.

These Hispander Repubs are making sure that the Romney campaign manages to lose to the evil Obama by driving down the base turnout. WTG dipwads! The Republican Party must be destroyed after 2012!

Also, fifty percent of the country winds up paying no federal income tax.

Immigration ( low skilled; - legal and illegal, anchor babies, etc. ) is the number one reason why.

[ If there’s another way to do it, please tell me what it is. ]

OH! ALRIGHTY then.. here it is... Grasshopper(author)..

Pass laws in every local community that you must prove citizenship or some kind legal status to reside in the USA..
-OR-
You will be prosecuted and sent to a work camp along the Mexican Border to build the wall and fortifications there.. or just deported..

LAws like this would cause many/most to Self-Deport themselves exactely the way they GOT HERE.. Its simple really they might be mexican or some other foreigner BUT THEY ARE NOT STUPID... (most of them)..

**NOTE: Not all illegal insurgents are latinos there are many chinese and other asians.. and people from every country on this planet.. Same work camp all of them..

Bumper sticker: “GET LEGAL OR SELF-DEPORT”....

I like Bowyer. He’s pretty clear thinking on most issues. But this is just nonsense. Every amnesty is just bait for another wave of tens of millions of new illegals.

There are three magnets that draw the illegals here: 1. economic opportunity, 2. free stuff from the gov’t, 3. US citizenship for their progeny. Eliminate these three and the illegals will self-deport.

Latinos are religious, morally conservative and tend disproportionately to join the military. They also tend to be hard working and entrepreneurial. Do we really have too many of them?

This comment is laughable on its face. If this were true, Mexico, whose people constitute something like 90% of the illegal immigrants in this country, would be the most awesome country on earth. There would be no need for its citizens to risk their lives to get to the US, because Mexico would be a stable republic with a great economy. However, we see what results when Mexican culture is the governing influence: a cartel-run, impoverished, third-world sh!thole.

The author starts out by dishonestly labelling it as "immigration" instead of ILLEGAL immigration that is being opposed.

The author then stoops to the level of calling opponents of illegal immigration Nazis with thinly-veiled references to concentration camps.

If one must use dishonesty and underhandedness in order to advance a cause, why would one think that the cause should be advanced?

Latinos are religious...

Then the illegal ones ought to read their Bibles, paying particular attention to the parts about stealing, coveting, and being in submission to the authorities over us.

True that many are conservative in principal, but when the first act of a person is to enter our country illegally and break our laws doing that, then they have become an intruder. Just as a person who enters your home without your consent is an intruder. Anyone who is an intruder or an invader must be repelled at all cost. Only when they are willing to leave and re-enter legally are they welcome.

I would not sit by and let someone come into my home without either forcing them out or killing them on the spot.

"Do we really want to pack them up, forcibly, by the millions in the greatest forced migration in human history?"

Yes, we do. Too bad the author didn't include "Law breakers" as one of his glowing adjectives about ILLEGAl ALIENS.

The Kenyan must go.

True to an extent. And, I suspect, many conservatives might not be so exercised over illegal immigration if we weren't obligated to pay them welfare, food stamps, WIC, Section 8, hospital care, and schooling for their kids.

The United States has a remarkable history of accepting immigrants -- anyone from anywhere. But they used to have to fend for themselves once they got here.

I argue that point with hard-core libertarians all the time. Usually get no response.

I concur with your point 100%.

Why is this so difficult for people to think of this on their own - especially when mostly everyone thinks that they (themselves) are "smart" ?

Just put the shoe on the other foot. What happens if an American goes to almost every other country ? They're a prime target for arrest, along with crime, attack, kidnap, etc. Not only does the local government not bend over backwards to help them - they'll arrest them in a heartbeat if they break any LOCAL laws. In other words, go to Mexico. Overstay your visa, get a job "off the books". Try to stay there and hide out and earn a living, as in a case where you've got legal troubles in the U.S. and want to spend the rest of your life in Mexico bartending or something, and you don't want any official records, you just want to hide.

Good luck. Doubtful any Mexican government folks are going to "cut you a break". Instead, you're much more likely to be shaken down, jailed, deported back to the U.S., etc. No one is coming to your aid.

Now, translate that situation to America - illegals have special interest groups, lawyers - even the government itself bending over backwards to roll out the red carpet for them.

Simple logic, common law: other than basic human rights, a citizen of nation A has zero rights in nation B, which has no obligation to nation A's citizens other than, again, basic human rights, such as a quick feeding and immediate deportation in the case of illegal invaders. But the "human rights" things trips up everyone, because most people have not dusted off their Bibles in decades, so they have made up their own morality (I guess 6 billion people are entitled to become U.S. citizens). Biblically, it's fairly easy to see the true moral obligations of civil government, including how it should treat non-citizens. Nations certainly "should" be following basic moral law, perfectly laid out in Scripture. However, there simply is no moral requirement that a nation grant citizenship to whoever asks for it.

Well, you big meanie, you just want to stop the author and his friends from getting the cheap labor from the illegals who do his yard work, clean his house and his pool, and care for his children.
