You aren’t the only one. Rove has basically committed a criminal action by wishing a sitting congressman (Akin) be murdered. For the life of me, I do not understand why this isn’t being actively pursued by the FBI. Of course our kenyan president has them as well as the Secret Service bought off. Folks, we are living in dangerous times.

Oh, the people "get to pick" huh? With all that Dem money and Dem ads? And if "the people" pick how was it that the Tea Party, which all Freepers claim represents "the people," backed the other two candidates? And why did Sarah Palin back Steelman?

This guy didn't care a whit if he cost the GOP the senate or the whole election. It's all about him.

There has been a change. The National Republican Senatorial Committee put up a map listing EVERY candidate running for office in every state..but ooooooooooops they showed Claire McCaskill as running UNOPPOSED and omitted Akin as the challenger. This was ONLY in MO. We called, emailed, blogged and finally Akin’s name was put back on the map. It is this type of a tactic that would cause the GOP to lose.
No surprise to me that Fox News (Rove and Coulter’s turf) would not report it and it was a grassroots movement that fought to correct the deliberate ommission.

I’m wondering what the heck is going on with the major polling organizations. It has been close to two weeks with no follow up polls on the Missouri senate race.

Minor polls and partisan polls show Akin regaining much or all of his lost ground, but they are too unreliable to say for sure. What is needed is a Rasmussen poll, either evenly weighted between the two parties, or equally weighted then adjusted by the number of likely voters for each party.

What this means is that Clare McCaskill is so unpopular that even the inept Todd Akin has a shot at defeating here. I still hope that Akin quits the race.

The issue Akin spoke on is a relatively minor one.

Right - the issue of rape is "very minor."

They aren't going to admit they were bias against Akin.

Whether or not you agree with it or not, they advised quite publicly and forcefully his candidacy would not be recognized by the NRSC and they were pulling $5 million in funds they had allocated to assist him. Right after the remarks and their announcement is when his name got removed from the map...I was curious myself back then if they would keep any reference to him on their website and they wasted no time removing his name.

I find it difficult to believe people who are genuinely pro-life are spending so much time on someone who caused the credibility of the movement so much damage. The use of the word "legitimate" was a gaffe in that he clearly meant by it actual forcible rape, however, what followed was not a gaffe and as far I as know he still stands by the remarks.

Akin was the choice of McCaskill and the Democrats who spent millions to make sure he won the nomination. There are people still going around here saying he was the grassroots conservative choice.

The NRSC finally got some brain...their boycott of Akin was sure to cost them conservative donations and votes

It was just more than Missouri conservatives and Christian leaders sticking up for Akin. A few leaders down here in Florida let the state GOP here, and the national GOP, know that they were going to ask their folks to hold back on money and support

There are a lot of PhonyCons who need to start apologizing, and start forgiving...and start supporting

I still don’t think anyone should donate to the party itself. Infested with RINO’s

many FReepers wanted him out, the more i thought about it....no way, it might have been worse for us had he bowed out, now i think things will settle down and we can concentrate on winning instead of apologizing.....onward.

If sheeple would get their heads out of their arses and think about what’s going on in WaRshington, what the hell is thee alternative?

I’ve come all the way around now. Just made a donation to Akin’s campaign. Anyone who wants to get rid of McCaskill and is in a position to offer help of any kind should do so IMHO.
