(CNN) - Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney on Tuesday issued a paper statement sharply critical of President Barack Obama over his handling of violence in the Middle East earlier in the day.
I'm outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi," Romney said in the statement. "It's disgraceful that the Obama Administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.

Thanks for posting this. I was hoping Romney would have something to say.
See Mitt was that so hard..THAT is how you go after this disgrace of a President..about damn time
Good for him!
not Odungo’s fault, Mama Jarrett is busy checking on some of her slum palaces in Chicago and can’t be reached......
Foot on his throat, Mitt, and keep it there.
Tomorrow he’ll be back to...But he’s a nice fellow, a friendly chap.
High damn time. Now tell us, Mitt, what are you going to do about it?
Romney needs to expand on this to the failure of Obama’s entire Mid-East policy since he’s been President, this is just a symptom of that failure.
Good! Keep it going, Mitt, you’re on a roll!
Romney - it is time to fight.
Shove this RIGHT IN OBAMA’S FACE.
This is the “dividend” from obama supporting the “arab spring”
Obama and his administration has been a disgrace since day one.
Yes, this screw up may be just what Romney needed. They have not been willing to go after Obama’s foreign policy, and both the embassy invasion and the governments ridiculous response open up two new lines of attack...Weakness and bumbling.
I’m just saying.... it’s probably a good thing I’m not president. I have a short fuse when it comes to terrorists attacking america. I’d probably do something pretty drastic.
The media won't cover this embassy invasion by Islam hardly if at all. But the media made sure every American head it a 1000 times anything that will help Obama .
Mitt mistakenly believed that he would beat Obama on the economy.
It’s foreign policy where Obama is most vulnerable, and needs to be focused on.
The Obama administration? No Mitt, go after Barack Hussein Obama directly. Obama, the Muslim usurper. Obama, the enemy of America.
Islamic rats swarming on a wounded Lion. The bad guys smell blood. The West is in grave danger.
Go back to DU troll.
Way to go! Now Mittens has to keep hitting 0bama with this next couple days.
The MSM are covering this in a disgraceful manner. This story has been hard to follow because they are apparently self censoring so as not to offend delicate muslims.
Can someone confirm what is the actual film/video that is being referenced?
But..but...but WAIT! NOW Obama says it’s the fault of the embassy in Cairo (under the bus with you)
“The statement by Embassy Cairo was not cleared by Washington and does not reflect the views of the United States government,” a senior administration official told POLITICO.
Forget a press release,
we were attacked on 9/11/12 and this is it??
Get tough dude.
That’s what needs to be said. Now he needs to get in touch with his friend BiBi and come up with a plan to stand by him. Make some noise so the MSM can’t ignore him in his quest to throw down Obama. This is the opening and one that the world needs to see.
Romney gets it right.
I agree- Bibi and Mitt go waaay back...they’re friends so I imagine there will be communications.
Romney wasn’t my first choice, but he is sizing up pretty well.
Now he needs to mention that Obastard has enough time to go on Letterman, but not to meet with the PM of our ONLY ally in the Mid East.
What I want Romney to say is if he’s elected he’ll stop ALL financial aid to ALL middle east nations harboring terrorists. Period. We got other things to do with our tax dollars. And if we do “invest” tax dollars in that area it will be dropped from our planes.
Not if we give him positive reinforcement. THIS is how a PRESIDENT should respond!
The media won’t cover Romney’s response .And many here will blame Romney for the media not covering it.
Romney has to learn to get past the media.....you think the media was any better to Reagan?
If he’s serious about winning the election he MUST add this to the statement,
“I think it’s now fair to ask the question, who’s side is Barrack Hussein Obama really on?”
Failing that, he’s not really serious
Good for Mitt. I can’t stomach another 2 mos of this Jimmy Carter do over.
” ALL middle east nations harboring terrorists. “
That would be all of them except Israel. And even they have terrorists inside their borders.
Wow! that’s gonna leave a mark! /s
How about, “After groveling and bowing before those who oppose us and insulting our closest allies, President Obama has created a dangerous situation throughout the Middle East and around the world. His weakness and lack of understanding of world affairs threatens to ignite the world with war. This reminds me of the lack of respect created by President Carter when our Embassy and its people were seized in Iran in 1976. We find ourselves in exactly the same place, for the same reason. There is just one way to restore our standing and respect in the world - sadly, it is to remove President Obama. The sooner, the better.”
Someone has to die before mittens wakes up. Well, let’s hope he stays awake now, because we got a lot to lose if the long-legged macdaddy kenyan muslim stays in the white house.
Sarah Palin and Laura Ingraham have skewered the Romney team for being so timid. Hope it wakes the Romney team up.
Saying that and talking about how BO rarely goes to security briefings should be pretty powerful—that is if Romney talks about it.
4 FA/18's on full afterburner at about 100 ft. doing a 360 around the embassies. If the crowds don't clear, one more lap dropping the ord.
If that doesn't work, get serious.
What is the point in being negative? Laud Romney for this and tell him to keep at it.
Well put Sarah B.!!
