A team of Australian researchers, led by University of Melbourne has developed a genetic test that is able to predict the risk of developing autism spectrum disorder (ASD). . . .
The test correctly predicted ASD with more than 70 per cent accuracy in people of central European descent.

Could have sworn that said “Arlen Specter” disorder.
So much easier to kill than cure.
More than twenty years ago I declined to have my son participate in a genetic study for that reason.
Still no cure, other than hard hard work towards normalcy.
SARCASM ON: Yes, abort them all -— who NEEDS “defective” people anyway???
SARCASM OFF: Aborting children who test positive for ASD means risking NOT having any more likely-positive and “defective” people like: Hans Christian Andersen, Lewis Carroll, Charles Darwin, Emily Dickinson, Paul Dirac (British mathematician and physicist, Awarded the 1933 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on the mathematical foundations of Quantum Mechanics), Thomas Jefferson, Michelangelo, Isaac Newton, George Orwell, Charles Richter (seismologist, creator of the eponymous scale of earthquake magnitude), Jonathan Swift, Nikola Tesla, Alan Turing (pioneer of computer sciences), Andy Warhol, W. B. Yeats, and Albert Einstein.
Awesome post. I and my ASD 17 year old grandson thank you.
Please tell your grandson “God doesn’t make mistakes,” and that there is a need and a reason for his very special perception of the world.
Are you, and your grandson’s parents, aware of the possible implications of a vitamin D3 deficiency as it might relate to autism?
Regarding the genetic marker, autism is almost certainly genetically based, but that doesn’t mean that having the genetic makeup that predisposes a child to autism will automatically cause autism in the child. It’s quite likely that the gene or genes are triggered by some external factor either during gestation, or in early childhood.
Autism has exploded to near epidemic levels since the medical community, in 1989, began to strenuously recommend that people avoid direct sunlight. Since then, many babies have been born who are seriously vitamin D3 deficient. Also, since that time, autism rates have skyrocketed (from one in 10,000 or so, to the current one in 150 or so) and this just might not be coincidence.
It’s even possible that a regimen of serious vitamin D3 supplementation can decrease autism behaviors. This has been observed in some cases.
I can elaborate, and point you toward some resources, if you’re interested.
The fraud said #1 son would be a dwarf. He was 6' tall. He had serious heart problems that I attribute to vaccines administered to my wife as part of her nursing program before she was aware of her pregnancy.
How do you know its purpose? Maybe they just want to make a diagnosis.
Are you that naive? Once they make the diagnosis, the parents will be given the choice of aborting, just like they are now with other possible defects.
