The conventional wisdom emerged in Washington almost immediately on Wednesday: Mitt Romney's handling of the violence in Egypt and Libya was a disaster.
"The comments were a big mistake, and the decision to double down on them was an even bigger mistake," Steve Schmidt, senior campaign strategist to Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, told CBS News. "There are legitimate criticisms to be made but you foreclose on your ability to make them when you try to score easy political points. And the American people, when the country is attacked, whether they're a Republican or Democrat or independent, want to see leaders who have measured responses, not leaders whose first instinct is to try to score political points."

They're quoting Schmidt from the McLame campaign about what Romney did wrong? So far, Romney's response has been of the highlights in his campaign.
Romney’s response beat hell out of the one from our President. Romney didn’t fly to Las Vegas for a fund raiser when a real problem lay in Libya.
Does anyone find it unusual that someone leaks the fact that Obama doesn’t attend 56% of his morning briefings two days before all this terrorism happens? Sounds like someone was trying to tell the public and the President something. He is just not doing his job, never has never will. Even after this was leaked he did nothing to thwart apparent threats. The MSM will never look into this!!
This Arab Spring mess is a couple of years old now and is a by-product of this administration’s failed policies. Romney’s criticism is fair game and appropriate.
So far, Romney’s response has been “the” highlight in his campaign. Finally someone who is speaking as an American Patriot..

Add onto that some pundit yesterday pointed out that Romney has not yet been included on any security breifings. He’s been denied access. Why? Doesn’t that start right after the conventions bringing the candidate up to speed?

Funny - Romney’s response was the thing that made me finally decide to go down to the GOP headquarters and volunteer to work phones.
I still don’t like him much, but Obama has got to go, and I think Obama revealed the depth of his evil and hatred of America with his complicit non-response to the events in Egypt and Libya.
Romney revealed that he is not only concerned about his country (unlike Obama, it’s the US!) but that he had the guts to say something. So he scored big in my book.
But that’s what the press is afraid of and why they’ve launched a counterattack.
Because if he had, he would have known this was imminent and that obama did not do a damn thing to stop it...not even upgrade security at our embassies on 9/11.
(Watching the press compete to see who osculates President Ebola's backside most effectively is becoming the journalistic equivalent of proclaiming one's religious fanaticism: "You think you're a better jihadist than me? Every other POTUS election in recent history has the nominated candidates given the briefings after the conventions.
The Commie Muslim has refused to do that this year.
It works like this. Romney responded because he had to. If he had made no response, the Obama shill media would have said Romney didn’t respond because he hasn’t a clue.

If I recall correctly, Reagan continually beat up Carter about the latter’s pusillanimous reaction to the Islamo-fascists in Iran. And all other weak reactions by Carter to anything on the international scene. Schmidt should be permanently banned from associating with Republicans in any official way.

I made the mistake of reading Yahoo forum posts on this yesterday..
It seemed like 99% of responses were “Romney screwed up big-time” even though the exact opposite is true.
It’s staggering how the media has twisted a GREAT response from Romney into a “gaffe” (what?!) and that there are so many gullible morons out there who actually fall for the spin.
If this keeps up, I’m not sure how the average voter is going to think the guy is competent enough to tie his own shoes - and I suppose that’s exactly the intent.

I fully realize that Mr. Romney has done things that I didn't like and will do things that I won't like, but the Kenyan Clown, over these four years, has been an utter disaster. “Such behavior is a sign of weakness that only invites the type of violence we have witnessed.”
They were, and still are, in the tank for Stalin and all his purges, robberies and mass murders.
It is hard to manifest one’s displeasure at their lies and leftist democrat political spin. Maybe a secondary boycott of the local TV stations might get their attention....don’t patronize the local merchants who carry the Network News.
This is but a foretaste of the unceasing, blind-with-hatred criticism that the media will sling at President Romney for unseating their messiah and spoiling his commie plans. It will make their treatment of Bush seem like a romance.
