The conventional wisdom emerged in Washington almost immediately on Wednesday: Mitt Romney's handling of the violence in Egypt and Libya was a disaster.
"The comments were a big mistake, and the decision to double down on them was an even bigger mistake," Steve Schmidt, senior campaign strategist to Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, told CBS News. "There are legitimate criticisms to be made but you foreclose on your ability to make them when you try to score easy political points. And the American people, when the country is attacked, whether they're a Republican or Democrat or independent, want to see leaders who have measured responses, not leaders whose first instinct is to try to score political points."

This guy, Steve Schmidt, is a leftist plant. Any republican that hires him is a fool.
If I recall correctly, Reagan continually beat up Carter about the latter’s pusillanimous reaction to the Islamo-fascists in Iran. And all other weak reactions by Carter to anything on the international scene. Schmidt should be permanently banned from associating with Republicans in any official way.

He didn’t botch it. That’s the problem the media can’t handle. He was presidential and didn’t wait 16 hours to condemn it. Or sleep on it- from reports I’ve heard. When Obama goes down he credibility of the news media will go along with it. Never has the media been so unfair and one-sided as it is right now. Romney isn’t even getting fair coverage. This is unprecedented, unprofessional, childish behavior. No matter what the issue, they refuse to criticize their “historic” president. They are trying to paint Romney as this evil right wing conservative when that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Romney was right on with his statement ,,, the left is merely jealous because 0bama blew it with his flipping and flopping response .

I made the mistake of reading Yahoo forum posts on this yesterday..
It seemed like 99% of responses were “Romney screwed up big-time” even though the exact opposite is true.
It’s staggering how the media has twisted a GREAT response from Romney into a “gaffe” (what?!) and that there are so many gullible morons out there who actually fall for the spin.
If this keeps up, I’m not sure how the average voter is going to think the guy is competent enough to tie his own shoes - and I suppose that’s exactly the intent.

Governor Romney's response was good enough that I have finally decided to contribute to his campaign.
I fully realize that Mr. Romney has done things that I didn't like and will do things that I won't like, but the Kenyan Clown, over these four years, has been an utter disaster. I can only condemn every single action that he has taken, both foreign and domestic. The headlines from the Middle East are the direct result of the Kenyan Clown's follies.
