Obama alone: This president does not need intel briefers
WaPo ^ | 9/13/2012 | Marc Thiessen

Posted on 09/13/2012 9:20:33 AM PDT by mojito

How long had it been since President Obama attended his daily intelligence meeting in the lead-up to the Sept. 11 attacks on U.S. diplomatic facilities in Egypt and Libya? After all, our adversaries are known to use the anniversary of 9/11 to target the United States.

According to the public schedule of the president, the last time the Obama attended his daily intelligence meeting was Sept. 5 — a week before Islamist radicals stormed our embassy in Cairo and terrorists killed our ambassador to Tripoli. The president was scheduled to hold the intelligence meeting at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, the day after the attacks, but it was canceled so that he could comfort grieving employees at the State Department — as well he should. But instead of rescheduling the intelligence briefing for later in the day, Obama apparently chose to skip it altogether and attend a Las Vegas fundraiser for his re-election campaign. One day after a terrorist attack.

When I asked National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor if the president had attended any meetings to discuss the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB) since Sept. 5, he repeatedly refused to answer. He noted that Obama had attended a principals meeting of the National Security Council on Sept. 10 and reiterated that he reads the PDB....

Vietor’s reply is quite revealing. It is apparently a point of pride in the White House that Obama’s PDB is “not briefed to him.” In the eyes of this administration, it is a virtue that the president does not meet every day with senior intelligence officials. This president, you see, does not need briefers. He can forgo his daily intelligence meeting because he is, in Vietor’s words, “among the most sophisticated consumers of intelligence on the planet.”

......he is, in Vietor’s words, “among the most sophisticated consumers of intelligence on the planet.”

Which statement confirms for me, yet again, that this president is dangerously ignorant, whatever his personal intelligence might be.

The PDB is just that, a brief summary.

Boxer or Briefings?

I'll wager that my briefs are both smarter than Barbara Boxer and have less sh*t on them.

The Obamadork does not like to be in the presence of intellectual superiors.

Which is why he spends so much time line.

He’s a vapid dork.

An inept vapid dork.

A Muslim inept vapid dork. (Which explains the inept vapid dork part.)

Period.

Oops, an Obamadork moment.

That’s “spends so much time alone”.

My bad.

A more relevant inquiry would involve Valerie Jarrett's attendance .

Of course, this is an aspect to the story that must not be mentioned by the media.

Not saying that Obama being at meetings would have made any difference. It's the blatant double-standard being applied here. If a Republican were president this information would be the lead headline on the Yahoo entry page, the pundits on TV would be demanding answers, mainstream newspapers would be calling for his resignation, and the local chapter of Code Pink and others would be planning protests.

It's so blatant and yet so many people choose not to see it, because you'd have to be a total moron to not recognize this double-standard.

Qbert~” So sophisticated and brilliant that 4 Americans are now dead...”

Correction :
4 indiviuals at the embassy
2 soldiers during the rescue attempt

Zero is still an arrogant , narcissist who knows it all and doesn’t need a briefing. His first priority is reelection campaign money .
The Amateur !

What was she doing during the Carter administration?

I think that would explain why Obama is using Carter speaches.

Earlier this week the New York Slimes was making a huge to do regarding renewed allegations that the Bush administration received more detailed information about an al Qaida attack from the CIA than has previously been reported.

I've read the accounts, and there doesn't seem to be much in them other than the usual hyperventilating of the liberal press. The CIA was clearly worried that a major attack was scheduled for the summer or fall of 2001, and there was a strong suspicion that the attackers might try to strike the US mainland, but there was nothing specific about an actual plot. As president, Bush continued to receive these CIA briefings, and kept pushing for more actionable intelligence.

How ironic that the same beacons of journalism who rush to smear Bush uphold an entirely different standard when the president is a Democrat, and not only fail to notice their utter hypocrisy, but become unhinged when its pointed out to them.

Obama is an ideologue, he doesn’t care about the fact because all they would do is interfere with his ideology. He’s going to do what he wants to do, regardless of the facts, so why bother with getting facts?

That’s the statement that hit me as well. They keep propping up this petty martinet as being so smart but he’s a moron.

He can’t speak extemporaneously and even screws up when he has the TOTUS (corpsman) comes to mind.

Everyone knew Bush’s grades, where are O’s 5.0 grades?, He’s so smart they needed a new classification. Where’s his SAT and LSAT results. If he had a 1600 on his SAT, you know they’d broadcast it endlessly so we know it’s average or as I suspect, worse than Bush’s.

Most people can tell relative intelligence and to give him the benefit of doubt, he’s at best, average.

You are 100% correct. This 9/11, the slimes again had to mention the august 16(?) presidential daily briefing (PDB) about Osama plans an attack on America and if Bush had just acted on that briefing, 9/11 would never had happened.

Over at the DUmpster, they actually think under algore’s leadership, 9/11 would not have happened.

The double standard is disgusting.
