....There are three things wrong with the bin Laden raid that suggest Obama is unsuitable as a wartime president: the planning, the execution and most importantly, the aftermath. Lets examine those in reverse.
Putting publicity ahead of victory.
Obama ran to the cameras and raced to tell the world that bin Laden was dead just hours after his body bobbed beneath the waves in the wake of the USS Carl Vinson. He was anxious for the credit, not realizing that the credit would keep. He forgot about the military advantage of surprise.
In his hurry, Obama forgot the two trash bags of papers, hard drives and thumb drives that the SEALs had dragged from bin Ladens lair. Those documents and devices contained a treasure trove of intelligence: the whereabouts of al Qaedas senior commanders, the secret sources of funds, its hideouts, its sleeper cells, its pending plots.
With a few weeks to translate and analyze those captured documents, the CIA and other services could have been providing actionable intelligence to guide commandos to the secret locations of al Qaeda leaders all over the world. With the element of surprise and clearly defined targets, nearly every al Qaeda leader could have been killed or captured.
The entire al Qaeda apparatus could have been wiped out. The terror organization could have been eliminated.
If he waited a few weeks, Obama could not have just announced the death of bin Laden, but the death of al Qaeda. This is the best way to end wars, with victory.
Instead, Obama threw it all away for a momentary star-turn before the cameras late on a Sunday night in May 2011.

You mean like island layabout Charlie Rangel's hand wringing over Saddam's raping and murdering sons, Usay and Quday?
"We have a law on the books that the United States should not be assassinating anybody," Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-NY, told Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes." "We tried to assassinate Castro and we paid dearly for it," the Rangel contended. "And when you personalize the war and you say you're killing someone's kids, then they, in turn, think they can kill somebody."Yes, those crazy Hussein kids. Just a couple of pranksters known for dipping girls' pigtails in inkwells and tying cans on car bumpers.
There should have been a live perp-walk with bin Laden at the end of a short chain-link leash and a steel collar around his f*cking neck.
but if Forbes thinks that with modern cell phones, communications, and the support of the Pakistani ISI,
that the death of Osama could be kept secret for WEEKS...
that, is simply foolish. . . .
_____________________________________________________________
Perhaps not so foolish.
If no one knows who did it they may have thought that Pakistan did it. In that case Alqueda operatives would have thought themselves safe.
At any rate they surely could have had at least a few days if not for the show and tell of Obama. He surely wanted the Moslem Extreemist to be safe.

Did you read the article, or are your really that dense?
Allow me to summarize for you. You can’t interrogate a corpse. OBL had valuable info that could have been used to gut AQ. Or, if Obama had delayed the announcement, the intel captured would have been very useful, before the AQ rats scurried away. The way it was done wasted a great opportunity.
See?
I see perfectly.
What you clearly cannot see is that Al Qaeda is a decentralized organization. They operate as rogue cells.
To not understand that erasing the man who killed thousands of innocents was a good thing is to declare yourself dense.
Killing Osama does not bring peace, but it does rid us of vermin.
Does it destroy their group? No.
We would have gotten almost no value from keeping him alive. What we would have gotten was lots of hostage situations.
If Bush had killed him you would hail him, as I would have. It is the one good thing Obama has done.
After months of stalling, Obama finally gave the go ahead to kill Bin Laden, just when he needed to change the headlines from his fake Birth Certificate.
Maybe, but there is a lot they could have kept under wraps for a while to not signal everything.
So you could almost say obama shot us in the foot. As long as osama was alive, al quaeda was being run by a sick old man, forced to change his hiding places frequently. Not conductive to planning big terrorists attacks. But now with him dead, al quaeda has a new, younger leader who can stand the strain and a bunch of pissed off followers out for our blood for killing their leader.
Miniter is saying that the announcement should've been delayed for a few days -- at least until the resultant intelligence could be analyzed and acted upon.
Obama's hasty announcement foreclosed on this potential benefit.
No, he didn't. He threw it all away for the sake of throwing it all away, to minimize the damage to Al-Q'aeda.
He did it to harm the American People, by minimizing their victory over their dire enemy.
Still, not all is lost; the benefit of so many drone strikes and special operations has been rolling up, so that the new generation of Al-Q'aeda leadership has a broad quality deficit compared with what they had 12 years ago. Mohamed Atta was an architect, and Mohammed Atef was a retired Egyptian policeman. Other than the physician Abu Ayman, they've no people of quality and education like that any more. Most of their senior people now are knuckle-walkers, guys who came up gunslinging, compared with that first group.
Something someone pointed out that I never noticed: Barky has a jacket on, slung over his golfing clothes ..... when they dragged him in off the course to watch the op. The pickle puss says it all, how much he appreciated what the SEALs were doing .... and then a month later, they were dead. Was that a coincidence or not?
Alternatively, the Dems, with Bin Laden dead, might have turned around and demanded Bush exit The Suck immediately -- and Afghanistan would have reverted to Taliban control after a couple of years -- which the 'Rats could use to berate Bush again, with cover from the MSM for their own role in ending the war prematurely.
“He did it to harm the American People, by minimizing their victory over their dire enemy.”
He had a choice and the choice Obama made was to martyr bin Laden because he knew bin Laden was never going to martyr himself.
I understand and disagree with his point.
Yeah, I’m sure that would have prevented the recent attacks.
While you are not incorrect, there is a BIG difference between blasting it around the world with the big podium of the American presidency and finding it out as a rumor or through the grapevine. Even a few extra days would have made a big difference.
Supporting your point, though, the current whitehouse staff is comprised of hacks and massive egoists. They couldn't keep a surprise party for a five-year old secret much less a secret of this magnitude. Now that I think about it, that describes the current president as well...unless you asking for his birth certificate, his college records, etc., etc.
The SEALS killed on the helo were killed because the Rules of Engagement.
“These were the conditions into which Extortion 17 flew. While they were flying under the escort of two AH-64D Apache helicopters and an AC-130 gunship, because of the rules of engagement and the possibility that there were friendlies in the area, the escorts were not allowed to lay down assault fire around the landing zone.
As Extortion 17 was on its final approach to the landing zone, a Taliban crew appeared on top of a two-story qalat (a mud brick house) and fired off at least two RPGs at the helicopter. The second RPG struck near the back rotor of the Chinook, causing the crash.”
