Excellent article - Thanks!
“... he was an avid student of Islam ... consistently strove to build the proverbial bridge...”
Sadly Stevens didn’t study enough to actually “get” it. All he had to do was read Gabriel Oussani and Hillaire Belloc’s book; “Moslems: Their Beliefs, Practices and Politics”. This book exposes the true nature of Islam without Rousseau’s pink cloud and its conclusions are based on actual history, i.e. reality.
Here are just two examples of the insights that Hillary and company need to absorb - and Romney’s team as well -
“Brotherly love is confined in Islam to Mohammmedans.” If Stevens had understood this concept from the beginning, the ambassador might have used a more wary approach, made less trusting decisions and might still be alive. (Decisions to overly trust Muslims earlier on - I don’t mean at the end.)
“Religion and the State are not separated in Islam” . This is the key concept that the liberals do not comprehend. Arab Spring?? Democracy?? Foolishness!! The religion of Islam teaches and bases its foreign policy on the premise that “The rights of non-Muslim subjects are of the vaguest and most limited kind, and a religious war is a sacred duty whenever there is a chance of success against the “Infidel”. Therefore, because there is no separation of church and state, crimes against the infidel will not be punished by the state.
Why are these elite Ivy leagues so blind to human nature and history?? And they consider themselves superior and more intelligent than the rest of us???
Baffling and terrifying at he same time because they are in power.
There is none so blind as he who will not see.
I understand that this was taught at Piedmont High School (Western Civilization class) when Mr. Stevens was a student there.
There are many Jewish people in Piedmont.
Makes me wonder if Mr. Stevens was really paying attention.
