But State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland issued a blanket denial this morning of the claim that State Department red tape held up a contract with the firm. It was the green tape...

Congressman Devin Nunes interviewed on the John Batchelor Show (radio) on the evening of 13 Aug 2012 said that the Department of State refused to meet with The Select Committee on Intelligence about warnings and will not meet to discuss the current crises.
Congressman Devin Nunes is a member of The Select Committee on Intelligence
The House intelligence committee used to be "one of the meanest snake pits in Congress" but lately the members have cooperated at least -- at the same time the Obama Administration (apparently) has been telling the Committee to pound salt.

It was the green tape... Or just incompetence...
I don't believe a word that comes out of the mouths of government officials these days. Not a word.

Had Blackwater been there, there would be scores of dead Libyans and they would be on trial for their lives.
But Stevenson would be alive.

Yet for all its clear faults, Blackwater had never lost a principalone of the individuals they were tasked to protect.

In spite of the *warning* signs. They dragged their feet and Americans died. Unforgivable.

If I was living overseas as a US provider, I'd be terrified.

Obama lied people died....
I know this sounds familiar but I personally thought of it.

They are terrified. I’m on my way tonight to pickup one such operator that isn’t sticking around any longer. He says there has been zero effort to secure Americans overseas and many effort to ensure Americans are not armed or secure.

While the bodies of the murdered Americans were being unloaded today...I understand Hussein was *tweeting* for more campaign money.

Whoa..
Would you mind asking him what the sense is of others he knows in the region? Are they thinking this is a temper tantrum and will settle down? Or is the beginning of something more serious?

Decades ago, many of us in the ME had to have *go* bags at the ready. There’s not much that has changed in the stability of the region, since then.
I wish Israel would get it over with.

This has been going on for months and much more so since Obama took office. I was due to head out myself by about now but things are on hold from Zero’s level. Contracts are being dragged out and support overseas is drying up. The orders from the executive level are all against American personnel; no this, no that, and definately less personal firearms for prtoection. The issued body armor is still there but other things necedssary for defense aren’t. As several people have put it, Obama seems to be saying, “So, what?!”
