More sniper ammunition being ordered by DHS. Who are the targets?

Surprise! The DHS Immigration and Customs Enforcement have requested more ammunition.

However, it is the type of ammunition and not necessarily the quantity that is troubling.

First on the agenda is the .223 rifle ammunition. Just a measly 40 million rounds in the first year, and another 160 million rounds in the following four years. 200,00 million rounds in total. You know, just enough to make you cringe thinking that some government office that is not military has more ammunition than you do.

The .223 caliber round is a decent hunting round, but that is not the rounds to be concerned about.

The .308 rounds should have you a bit concerned. Quite a bit concerned.

Why the .308? Because the same folks at DHS think they need two types of .308 caliber rounds. Blank ammunition and 168 grain hollow point boat tail ammunition.

The blank ammunition will be spread to five different locations in the American south east and in Puerto Rico. The regular ammunition will be spread all over the US in a variety of places.

We have seen what Hitler, Stalin and Mao did. It is not likely to have traction here in the USA. The leftists already have no firearms as a grop. I think that more US Patriots have .308 and 30-06 than the brown shirts. And how many .338 Lapua do the brown shirts have vs. Patriots?

Hmmm. How many rounds are out there in private hands?

Several Hundred Billion, I reckon.

300 Million to 500 Million firearms; at least a 1000-round starter kit of ammo for each one. Should be a bunch of it.

That may be true, but what they do have is FAR better organized.

7.62mm NATO/.308 is one of my very favorite rounds. Good to know that there will be some around if its needed. Knowing our government... they will store it in a U-Haul storage unit with small Yale lock.

All Tea Party members will soon be required to wear a U.S. flag on their arm, to make target identification easy.

Billions and billions. Lake City Ammunition factory in Lake City, Louisiana manufactured and sold more that 2.5 billion rounds of 5.56mm NATO in 2010 alone. More than 40% went on the civilian market. Americans shoot up a lot of 5.56mm.

And why isn’t a Republican Congress having daily hearings about the accumulation of anti-civilian ammunition? Is no Republican curious about why the government needs to be able to kill so many of its own people?

I am sure that most of the military will uphold their constitutional oath. The communist insurrection will have enemies from two sides. Invest in Washington, DC underwear cleaners.

"168 gr HPBT is the favorite 1,000 yard round for Camp Perry target shooting. It's illegal for use in combat per the Geneva Convention. Geneva requires FMJ. No hollow points."

That's incorrect. First of all it's the Hague Convention of 1899 that prohibits the use of easily expanding/deforming projectiles. Second, our snipers are issued rounds such as the MK316, which is a 7.62 x 51 featuring a 175 gr Sierra HPBT.

"A 1991 US Army Judge Advocate General (JAG, the Army’s legal arm) decision held that certain hollow point projectiles were not subject to the Hague Convention’s prohibition of such projectiles for use in warfare, as long as the purpose of the “open tip” was to provide better accuracy or ballistic shape, instead of to enhance bullet expansion."

That reminded me of a joke I heard today. This good old boy from North Mississippi called obama the other day and said, “Mr President, we are decalring war on you”.

“Who are you?”, responded obama.

“It's me and Vern and the boys”

“Look son... I am CiC of the United States and I have 1.5 million troops under my command and you need to know that”.

“Look Mr President... I need to talk with Vern and the boys about this... I will have to get back with you”.

Well sir this good old boy calls obama back up the next day and says, “Mr president... I am going to have to call off that war”.

“Well son, I am glad that you have come to your senses and see that you face a far more lethal Military”.

“No sir... it ain't that... you see we run a catfish farm and me and Vern and the boys just can't figure out... even with 20 ponds... how we are going to feed that many prisoners of war”.

It’s not the Wehrmacht you need to worry about, it’s the Gestapo and the Waffen-SS.

What makes you think it’s going to be “a constitutional republic” doing so?

Good point. . How much more can we take?

About 1 well placed .308 round.

These people will rue the day if they plan on targeting American citizens.
