Alleged 'Innocence of Muslims' filmmaker taken in for interviewing by deputies
Los Angeles Times ^ | September 15, 2012

Just after midnight, authorities descended on the Cerritos home of the man believed to be the filmmaker behind the anti-Muslim movie that has sparked protests and rioting in the Arab world.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies escorted a man believed to be Nakoula Basseley Nakoula to an awaiting car. The man declined to answer questions on his way out and wore a hat and a towel over his face. He kept his hands in the pocket of a winter coat.

Sheriff's officials could not be reached by The Times, but department spokesman Steve Whitmore told NBC4 that deputies assisting the federal probation department took Nakoula to the sheriff's substation in Cerritos for interviewing.

Authorities waited until most media had left for the day.

Earlier Friday, sheriff’s deputies had to escort attorneys through a scrum of news cameras into Nakoula’s home. This time, authorities only had to avoid a lone photographer for The Times and a few other lingering reporters.

Nakoula has told the Associated Press he was a logistics manager on the "Innocence of Muslims" movie, not the director. He told a Coptic bishop Thursday that he had no role in it, the clergyman told The Times.

The diversion continues.
And so does the underMining of certain “free speech” if it offends a protected class.

Had the video instead been some sort of boundary pushing porn, snuff, mockery of judeo-christianity and this guy was being treated the way he is, the left would be outraged.

...taken in on what grounds?

I read earlier that this guy is on probation, and one of the terms of his probation was that he could not use computers or the internet.

Im not understanding any of this. This entire debacle is killing the Hussein regime. The appeasement and apologies have continued even after America learned what these animals did to the ambassador. Yet the Hussein puppets in the media and the Hussein regime itself keep up with “movie” false narrative. Why? It makes no sense. It is killing them politically, what are we missing?

Questioning, and possibly previous warrants from fraud investigation over the years.

This is outrageous. And not one word from anyone in Hollywood nor the ACLU.

The big media is part of the conspiracy!

There is HD version of the 13:51 minutes clip of a purportedly anti-Islamic movie [here].

I think they are somehow claiming that if he posted anything on the internet it is a parole violation.

They are going to try to turn the film-makers into "rightwingers" and then try to blame all the death and destruction on the right, then demand controls over internet posting, probably.

They are also trying to appease the MB so it won't let this get further out of control until after the election when Obama should have "more flexibility."

Picking him up after midnight is a nice stalinistic touch, very theatrical.

For the past couple of days, local news stations have been airing stories about the man, that prior to having made the movie, if in fact, he is the one who directed or produced or created it - that he had at least a half dozen different identities and that in years prior, he was allegedly accused and/or convicted of check-kiting. ...A federal grand jury indictment in February 2009 charged Nakoula in an alleged bank fraud conspiracy. The indictment accused him and others of fraudulently obtaining the identities and Social Security numbers of bank customers at Wells Fargo and withdrawing $860 from bank branches in Cerritos, Artesia and Norwalk.

Los Angeles County District Attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons confirmed that Nakoula served a year in jail after pleading guilty to possession of meth with the intent to manufacture in 1997...

But it won’t work, and they have to know it. No one is buying the YouTube story, and the horror of the Benghazi attack only reinforces Americans justified belief that Islam is NOT the peaceful entity the Hussein regime claims it is. And the more they try and spin it, the worse it looks.

Unless it IS just what it looks like; complete and utter ineptitude from the regime and it’s media puppets trying to deal with the monster they created. Either way the spin and distraction attempts are drawing more attention to Islam.

BTW, in the midst of the UT and NDSU evacs, and stories from the middle east. We had a refinery wide “evacuation drill” in Wood River today.

The charge is that the President needs a scapegoat.

Can you imagine if the press was fair and reported that his boasting of “Bin Laden is dead, GM is alive” had caused this?

It would be the end of his re-election hopes. The media and Democrats will arrest and suppress anyone and their rights to keep that from happening.

Those protesters were burning Obama in effigy... those protesters were chanting “Obama... Obama... we are all Ossama”

Do you really think this is about a stupid internet video t them? Actually I think the deflection is making the jihadi’s even more angry. The violence could get worse because the MSM and the government refuse to even “get their message”.
