Brad Pitt is Pro-Gun?
NRA-ILA ^ | September 14, 2012 | NA

It is probably safe to say that a majority of Hollywood's stars and A-list actors fall on the anti-gun side of the aisle when it comes to their view of our Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Historically, not all are anti-gun--Charlton Heston, Tom Selleck, and Chuck Norris, for instance--but a majority are. And for those stars who are pro-gun, openly admitting to that fact these days would bring almost certain disdain and attack from their peers (think Rosie O'Donnell).

It comes as somewhat of a surprise, then, that mega-star Brad Pitt recently had so much to say about the issue of gun ownership, both as an individual right, and as a part of our national identity.
"America is a country founded on guns. It's in our DNA. It's very strange but I feel better having a gun. I really do. I don't feel safe, I don't feel the house is completely safe, if I don't have one hidden somewhere. That's my thinking, right or wrong," Pitt said in a Daily Mail interview that covered a variety of other topics.

"I got my first BB gun when I was in nursery school. I got my first shotgun by first grade, I had shot a handgun by third grade and I grew up in a pretty sane environment," Pitt continued.

Following the tragic Aurora, Colorado murders, some exploitive politicians predictably tried to seize on the opportunity to propose more gun laws. Commenting on the idea, Pitt indicated that he doesn't believe gun laws should be changed. "I was in the UK when the shootings happened and I did hear the discussion about gun control start again, and as far as I know it petered out as it always does."

"It's just something with us. To turn around and ask us to give up our guns... I don't know, we're too afraid that we're going to give up ours and the bad guys are still going to get theirs. It's just in our thinking. I'm telling you, we don't know America without guns."

These revelations come on the heels of recent rumors that Pitt bought wife-to-be Angelina Jolie a nearly $400,000 shooting range and armory as a wedding present.

It's good to know that a Hollywood legend enjoys guns and shooting, and believes in the right of self-defense.

Right now, I’d like his 1st Amendment opinion concerning the investigation of the anti-Islam film.

Hollywood and the ACLU so concerned about the 1st Amendment and their right to insult virtually everything. Now silent.

"It's good to know that a Hollywood legend enjoys guns and shooting, and believes in the right of self-defense."

He is an Obama supporter, and like most of Hollywood celebretards believes only in "Guns for me, but none for thee." He knows that given his place in the social strata, he will have guns; either his own, or he will be able to hire them. Anybody who voted for Obama has nothing to say to me about the 2nd amendment, one way or the other. They are dead to me.

A lot of leftists are pro gun these days.

Nothing like a group of liberal fascists armed and ready to die for der Fuhrer.

The Obama Brown shirts will soon raise there horribly ugly heads.

"The Obama Brown shirts will soon raise there horribly ugly heads."

With few that actually have acquired any real training, the outcome will be the same as with history, and can be summed up in 2 words...

Canon Fodder!

But he's too much of an idiot to connect that the rest of his politics are diametrically at odds with such individual liberty.

It is also not just a reluctance that “the bad guys might not give up theirs”. I'm in my late 40’s and with every passing day there are more and more bad guys that I can't take with my fists. A 100 lb. woman is in truth, completely at the mercy of an unarmed attacker, UNLESS she is armed with a firearm. Then there is the issue of a tyrannical government...

I'm at that stage already - late 50's, post-transplant, post-cancer, and armed...

Pitt isn’t pro gun. He just revels in being the “bad boy”. He’s a liberal to his core.

If your rumor is true, Brad is prepared to give up his guns so they can play with their guns.

Brad, you can't have Obama without gun control. Wake up.

Once it stops being a partisan issue, you win. Gun rights are becoming less and less a GOP issue, and more and more a rights issue.

The lying homo-loving POS. This nothing is starting to believe he’s one of his make-believe he-man characters. He would blow his damn toe off if he tried to shoot a real weapon.

The ACLU kept the name but they've devolved into a group hat only shills for liberal elites - kind of like the New York Times.

Yes. Firearms are also in style for most Democrats now, although many of the more influential constituents (tycoons of debt regime and anti-American globalism, their administrative chamberlains, all) in both political parties would like to find a politically expedient way to make firearms ownership and carrying more exclusive. The Second Amendment is more of a working/middle class issue today.

Actually, This attitude about guns from him is not new. A few years ago there was a picture in some tabloid of Brad and the oldest child, Maddox doing some shooting at a gun range. The tabloid was aghast at the thought of a child being taught how to handle and shoot a gun. He grew up here in Missouri and trust me, you don’t grow up here and not know how to handle a gun, unless you live in KC or STL.

It will not be that easy. The North made the same supposition about the South early on in the last one.

A lot of leftists have taken the benefits of the 2nd amendment quite seriously over the last 5 years.

No it won't be, and I am not underestimating anyone....

But the fact remains that the discipline is not there, when the actual event happens.

A determined force (a vested interest in the outcome)can overcome superior numbers, I just don't believe that they have the courage of their convictions, when "the SHTF" and look at the reality the masters of these types will throw them under the bus if they start to feel that they are not going to achieve their goals.
