A demonstration that began with about 200 people outside the U.S. consulate in Sydney swelled to more than twice that number, with protesters appearing to catch police off guard as they marched through the centre of the city.
Some of the chanting protesters carried placards reading "Behead all those who insult the Prophet".
Several streets, usually thronging with weekend shoppers, were blocked off by police as the protest grew. Police, many wearing anti-riot equipment and some on horseback, used dogs and chemical sprays, including tear gas, as they tried to control the protest.
Reuters Television pictures showed one policeman with a head injury being led away by colleagues. Police later said six officers had been injured and eight protesters arrested.

1) They're just dumb.
2) They believe Romney's gonna win in a landslide, and they want to get in all the destruction they can get in before President Romney begins dropping J-Dams on their demonstrations.
3) God is in control. He allowed Satan and his minions to begin agitating the Arab street, and because they worship a false moon-god, they're helpless to resist.
The West has effed up big time. It’s not going to end nicely with these people.
Australians shocked by Muslim men and kids signs: BEHEAD ALL THOSE WHO INSULT THE PROPHET
Just wait until they find out how duped they were with all of the Hitler videos.
4) God is in control. He is allowing this because we have leaders in charge who rejected 3 times and then were/are insincere of heart in putting Him back into their stated platform.
As everyone knows, this has nothing to do with a movie
Pathetic how the media has accepted the premise that all this is about the film. The Islamists know how to play the media, and liberals, like a fiddle. They’ve figured out that if they can tie their violent outbursts to provocotive cartoons or films or whatever, the post-modern West will tie itself in knots and essentially blame itself.
The government took away the law abiding citizens guns, a much safer atmosphere for these animals.
>> 4) God is in control. He is allowing this
God observes how we handle our free will. And only because good men do nothing...
Islam is a war plan. I doubt Christ approves.
>> The government took away the law abiding citizens guns
Government don’t take, citizens relinquish.
The media knows better.
What is pathetic is that the Media is working for the Muslims in trying to propagate this lie.
If it hadn’t been this movie it would have been something else. The Muslims want war, and if they keep this crap up they are going to get it.
The Australian Islamic Republic?
I went to ABC Australia, and they are updating on this and providing pictures. Their media is saying that the protestors are claiming they are there to defend their prophet over the film, so they are blaming the film as well. They have this block in the article:
The film that triggered the unrest
The film titled Innocence of Muslims mocks the Prophet Mohammed and Islam.
Touches on themes of paedophilia and homosexuality.
Features low-budget production values, with actors in false beards in front of stock desert footage.
Cast members have said they thought it was a fictional epic, and later found their lines had been dubbed over.
Reportedly written by Nakoula Bassily Nakoula, 55, an Egyptian Copt on conditional release from prison.
Directed by 65-year-old Alan Roberts.
Reportedly produced by a US religious group called Media for Christ.
Promoted by a network of right-wing Coptic and Evangelical Christians with a radical anti-Muslim agenda.
Among them is Florida pastor Terry Jones, who spoke to The World Today about his involvement.
But, I was just a kid in the 1970’s and this stuff was going on. So in 40 years or more ‘the west’ hasn't learned to deal with islamics? In 40 years islamics haven't been able to learn to deal with the west?
WE effed up? Yeah...someone created a power vacuum, but these elements have been waiting decades for this. This though is what happens when we elect leaders with no foreign policy understanding in the world. Be it in politics or in business...textbook foreign policy philosophy is no way to operate in the real world.
Aww, isn’t it nice when the family can spend quality time together on a Saturday and do religious outreach at the same time?
Not the people carrying signs calling for beheading...
