A demonstration that began with about 200 people outside the U.S. consulate in Sydney swelled to more than twice that number, with protesters appearing to catch police off guard as they marched through the centre of the city.
Some of the chanting protesters carried placards reading "Behead all those who insult the Prophet".
Several streets, usually thronging with weekend shoppers, were blocked off by police as the protest grew. Police, many wearing anti-riot equipment and some on horseback, used dogs and chemical sprays, including tear gas, as they tried to control the protest.
Reuters Television pictures showed one policeman with a head injury being led away by colleagues. Police later said six officers had been injured and eight protesters arrested.

But, I think their perception of Obama is different than ours. They feel betrayed. After all, Jerusalem was put back into the DNC platform, Obama keeps bragging about killing Osama Ben Laden, and Israel still exists.
But the original “upheaval”, which took place on Sept. 11 and included an RPG attack on an embassy, wasn’t about the film. The film was just a cover story to shift blame onto the West and promote aftershocks in other parts of the world. So far it has worked brilliantly. The western media and even the Obama admistration have latched onto the film as the root cause, and Muslims all over the world are seeing this and reacting to the film themselves.
It’s just so odd, like we’re in an alternate universe or something. I guess the lib media is everywhere.
Out of an Australian population of roughly 22 million people, the protesting of 500 is newsworthy? More folks attend the local senior mall walks than that.

Lib media or something on a more cultural level? What is the first thing most people do when someone gets upset with them? Even if they know their right, but the other seems immensely upset?
Apologize. The PC liberal world has created several generations of guilt-goaded self-depracting cowards. IF you upset someone of another race, religions, etc. you are a bigot, homophobe, or some other term the PC media dreams up.
This stunning islamic rage over some obscure film is what is odd? No, it is the result of PC thinking if you kiss somebody else's backside enough they will not call you names...like bigots or anti- something else.
The liberal world and mindset ...for whatever reason...cannot come to terms with the idea that there is this 'hate' in islam. If we just hug them harder they will love us is how they think. If we are more grovelling they will back off their rage filled hate...
We need to stop owning THEIR hate! Their hate of America is not something we can remotely control or remove. Their hate is their problem. All our efforts to bring them a freedom they don't want, give them billions of our dollars, do business with them and create jobs in their country ...while we lose jobs here, none of this has stopped their prejudice against America. It is time for America to stop being their enabler.

Among many protesters,it IS about the film. Even if they had not seen it. Among the leaders behind the riots, though, it is about so much more than the film.
mooslums live in the worst sh*t hole places on earth. they do not want to craw up the ladder to better, they want to drag everyone else down to their level.
It is a concept that Americans cannot understand.

And maybe the biggest...he keeps telling the media he is not a muslim, but is a christian (after being raised muslim). I hear that is frowned upon in the Islamic world.
I believe that the muslims are already at war, and have been for hundreds of years. The rest of the non-islamic world has yet to realize that there is a war on.
They also fail to realize that the muslims are prepared to wage war in perpetuity until islam is absolute.
Like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, a muslim who is willing to fight and die for a live and let live policy towards all other religions does not exist.
Americans have a little while before the muslims have true power and influence here. But it will happen if we let it.
