Taliban Commander: Prince Harry Primary Target of Camp Bastion Attack Which Killed Two Marines

The Taliban have announced that Prince Harry was the main target of an attack last night on his base in Afghanistan, which left two U.S. Marines dead and others injured.

Insurgents armed with rocket-propelled grenades and assault rifles stormed heavily-fortified Camp Bastion, the British HQ in Helmand, in a deadly assault on the ‘aviation area’.

A commander for the radical Islamic movement told Sky News the Prince was their primary target and secondly as revenge for an amateur anti-Muslim video recently posted on YouTube.

'We attacked that base because Prince Harry was also on it and so they can know our anger,' Taliban spokesman Qari Youssef Ahmadi said by telephone.

He added, 'Thousands more suicide attackers are ready to give up their lives for the sake of the Prophet.'

The 27-year-old Royal arrived on the frontline last week to fly Apache attack helicopters - which have the highest ‘kill rate’.

I would be interested in knowing how they knew Harry was there.

Did the media report it, if so who reported it to the media, was it Harry himself or one of his handlers.

Seems to me the enemy had precise information, of the kind you expect as only coming from within the Obama administration.

Not that this administration would do such a thing, but someone somewhere did and this deserves intense investigation.

I want to see someone accountable for the death of these Marines...

Leni is right.

In fact, if I remember correctly, a few years ago the prince threatened to resign his commission if he wasn't sent into a combat tour of duty. He didn't want to spend the rest of his life being accused of acting like a “perfumed prince.”

That is Britain, after all. Some people **ARE** more important than others over there by virtue of noble birth. (We fought a war against that idea, of course, but they were on the other side and they seem to like having a royal family with all the trappings of monarchy.)

He didn't have to go if he didn't want to go, and when the top brass wanted to keep him out, he threw a fit and demanded to go.

Seems to me he's doing the right thing.

My personal guess is that he's serving in combat somewhere else in Afghanistan and not at that base at all. No evidence, just a hunch.

The British are not stupid, and if you've got an angry young aviator who absolutely and utterly refuses the privileges that go with his pedigree, there are ways to protect him.
