Chaos At The State Dept?
Powerline ^ | Septembe 15, 2012 | Steven Hayward

Posted on 09/15/2012 9:35:44 AM PDT by opentalk

I spoke with a well-placed journalist last night whose sources describe the situation at the State Department in one word: “Chaos.”

The working assumption is that several American embassies may have been penetrated, or are vulnerable to attack, because so many of them rely on local residents for staff needs at the embassy, and as such may be in a position to breach security if they have been recruited by Al Qaida.

...The consulate in Benghazi was an interim facility, with only a standard door lock for security, and worse, Ambassador Stevens was traveling with only a light security detail, rather than in the heavily armed convoys our diplomats in the region usually employ. The attack on the Benghazi was no mere target of opportunity spurred by reaction to the “Innocence of Muslims” film; the film is just a pretext.

The killing of Amb. Stevens was a premeditated hit, planned and carried out as retaliation for the recent drone strike that killed the number two Al Qaida operative in Afghanistan recently. The vulnerability of Stevens at the Benghazi compound was scouted out carefully.

The only thing that wasn’t premeditated is the official response.
They are winding it , and making it up as they go along.
This is obvious , as they are still blaming the film that no one has seen. The fact that Google is keeping it up, online , despite the close relationship they have with Zero, will provide the ‘chaos’ that Zero needs to have more control over the internet.
Check out the “Cyber Security Bill” if you get the chance ..

This is what happens when you put a bunch of immature college “children of the earth” wearing “peace sign” and Che’ T-shirts in charge of foreign policy.

Remember that Hillary detests the military and did not like them around when Clinton was in the White House. In fact, they were ordered not to speak to her should they encounter her in the hallways.

It is very plausible that as Secretary of State, she reduced or eliminated military protection of our embassies and if this is true, she should not just resign but be charged with gross dereliction of duty.

No, she “cares deeply”... isn’t that more important than competency?

Only an idiot would believe the official media party line that some YouTube video caused all this, and not the non-stop ball spiking at the Dem Convention re “Osama’s dead and GM’s alive, baby!”

But then again, half the US is prepared to re-elect Obama.

No protection for the Ambasador, yet Valerie Jarrett has 6, or 7, SS agents assigned to her 24 hrs. per day.

Sean Smith , one of the killed Americans in Bengazi , stated on his “Jabber account” that it was raining mortars as they went up the trail to the safe house.
The route was already “zeroed-in”, and four mortars fell on the trail as they got to the ‘safe house’.

That doesn’t happen by happenstance !

Yes, it was a premeditated “hit” on Ambassador Stevens. The problem is that it appears that it was not just the work of a small “hit squad.” Instead, it looks like the locals were all willing participants. As they are at all the other embassies.

It is Islam’s War Against the West.

Just like Jimmy Carter, Madeline Halfbright is being vindicated. She just moved up from the worst Secretary of State.

I have been feeding these guys stories for a couple days. Nice to see they are finally taking the ball and running with it.

Fact 1, I posted a story here that shows only 8 LOCAL security staff were on duty at the time of the attack. The admin claimed 30 I think originally.

Fact 2, there was NO DEMONSTRATION before the assault on the consulate. The security guard interviewed at the hospital said this, Sean Smith who killed at the consulate only stopped playing EVE online when the attack started, he never mentioned any protest, but did mention his fear because he saw one of the local ‘security’ taking pictures with his cell phone before the attack. He only went offline when the attack started, there was never a protest. I also posted a story from a Dr. from Boston who was in Benghazi to take part in a signing ceremony at the local hospital the next day. His associate had spoken with Ambassador Stevens 45 minutes before the attack and the Ambassador never mentioned a protest. The Dr WAS ON THE PHONE with the Ambassador’s attache when the attack began. The attache never mentioned a protest, he just said ‘Oh God’ when the attack started. The Dr, who was at a hotel less than a mile away, then heard explosions as the assault started. These three facts prove the Administration is and was lying about a protest before the attack.

Fact 3..Al Qaeda bombed the consulate on June 6, and posted a Youtube video about it on June 11. I posted that link here too. Security at the consulate was never raised after this attack, the building was not hardened to protect from attacks.

Fact 4...Three days before the attack, the local Libyan security officials WARNED our people there that the security situation was deteriorating, but we did nothing.

Fact 5...When the assault started, the consulate called the embassy in Tripoli begging for help. I think it was an hour before we had people on the ground at the airport in Benghazi to assist with the defense of staff and their evacuation. Our gov’t could only muster SEVEN private American security to help repel the attack.

Fact 6...Academi, the company formerly known as Blackwater, was ready “two months ago” to go to Libya to protect diplomatic assets, a former Bush Administration official and another source say. “No truth to this,” says spokesperson Victoria Nuland.

So we have more than enough facts already to bury Obama, it is just a matter of getting them out before the Administration can bury them in their coverup

There should always be, at minimum, a platoon of Marines at least armed w/an assortment of rocket and/or belt fed grenade launching weapons AND heavy belt fed machine guns in addition to their regular squad weapons defending our consulates in Mo-Mo`s lands. Obozo and his @ssclown circus are on the air!

This is Hillary’s fault. It was a mistake to hire a Secretary of State who doesn’t know anything about foreign policy or different cultures, especially Islam.

gross dereliction of duty

Sam, have come to a conclusion, over the decades of trying to make sense of those who hold the reigns of power. That conclusion is this ... Those who hold power are granted, if I understand the situation correctly, immunity for any policy which may be detrimental to the well being of our nation. No immunity is granted for violation of criminal law though, once more, if I understand the situation correctly, immunity from being held liable for policy is the course of granted immunity. Should this continue, the gross dereliction of duty is the methodology by which anything and everything can be label as policy therefore none of those practicing a methodology which they understand to be detrimental to our nation can nor will ever be held to account. We the People are no longer in control.
