TRIPOLI - Libyan authorities have identified 50 people who were involved in the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi in which the ambassador and three other Americans were killed, a security official said on Saturday.
U.S. ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three others died when gunmen attacked the consulate and a safe house refuge in the eastern city on Tuesday night. The attackers were part of a crowd blaming America for a film they said insulted the Prophet Mohammad
So far four people have been arrested and are being questioned, Libyan officials have said.
“We know of 50 people who were involved in the attack, we have names and we know who they are, but there could be more,” Abdel-Monem Al-Hurr, spokesman for Libya’s Supreme Security Committee, said.
“Four have been arrested. Some of the others may have escaped via Benghazi airport, maybe to Egypt, but this not confirmed. We have given their names to all of the Libyan border entry points.”
A spokesman for President Barack Obama said on Friday officials had no evidence the attack was pre-planned, an assertion which has added to confusion over the incident.
Immediately after the attack, U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, were quoted widely in the media saying they believed the attack was well-planned and organized.
The Libyans, being a tribal culture, were more than happy to oblige, and I am sure the people on the list will be dispatched by Barry and his flying drones. The Libyans get credit for co-operating and the folks in charge get some of their tribal enemies whacked courtesy of the USA. Barry gets his bodies and declares the whole Benghazi thing settled and ancient history. NO need to investigate the security failings, we got the bad guys anyways.
This same formula has been used time and time again in Pakistan and Afghanistan, where one tribe gives 'intelligence' to the US and we use it to whack the supposed 'bad guys'. Only trouble is, a lot of the time, the supposed 'bad guys' have their multiple wives and kids around and Karzai goes off the rail after some of the 'collateral damage is splashed across the TV screens in Kabul.
My thoughts exactly. The ones who are the actual perps are probably being rewarded!

Today Al Qaeda claims credit. THE SAME THING HAPPENED in June when Al Qaeda bombed the consulate. The State Dept said then...........State Dept spokesman Mark Toner said Washington was awaiting results from an investigation by the Libyan government, but had no reason to suspect the attack was retaliation for Libi’s killing.
On June 11th, Al Sahab (al Qaeda’s media arm), posted a video of the attack on the consulate on YouTube!

The muslim world has a reputation of handing their problems over to us whether the problem is who we want or not. Its a great way of getting rid of the leader of a rival tribe or family etc.

We can execute every filthy, stinking rat involved in this attack, and it still wouldn’t excuse Hillary Clinton’s incompetence and OLD RUN AND HIDE’s behavior.

How many of the ambushers were killed? I want to know a number. There have been no reports of this. Why not? Were our people totally unarmed?
I haven’t heard any more about the brave heroes who rushed the Amb. to the hospital. Do you think that after pictures were available showing him being dragged through the street have anything to do with the SOS silence. Praise the terrorists first get the facts later.
wouldn’t we have security cameras at the embassy. wouldn’t we be able to provide hard evidence.
