"stable, if often violent" Commodore Stephen Decatur “Our country! In her intercourse with foreign nations, may she always be in the right; but our country, right or wrong” Mr. uh, Van Driess, so, they're like the Germans--either at our feet or at our throats? They're rational but also crazy like outhouse rats. OK that makes sense. Uh, that old dude is cool. He said "intercourse" heh heh heh heh uh heh heh heh

Saudi Arabia is armed to the teeth with American weapons. They should have no trouble defending Kuwait.

Saudi Arabia is armed to the teeth with American weapons.

Unfortunately for them, those weapons are held by Saudi soldiers.

Maybe we could encourage Iraq to incorporate Kuwait as a province of Iraq...

As a veteran who served in Kuwait I would absolutely support this. Kuwaitis are too good to serve in their own military and tolerated us simply because they were too piss poor to defend themselves. I would cut a deal with Iraq, they can have Kuwait, we got oil at $25 a barrel.

This is just natural gas and doesn't show oil and coal which are often found in close proximity.

“That part of the world enjoyed a stable, if often violent, balance of power for hundreds of years without American intervention. It’s high time we quit thinking of every upheaval on the other side of the world as a threat to national survival. Our republic can not long survive a state of constant and endless crises.”

...ahhh....Peace in our time.
