Armada of British naval power massing in the Gulf as Israel prepares an Iran strike
The Telegraph ^ | 15 Sep 2012 | Sean Rayment

Posted on 09/15/2012 5:26:47 PM PDT by mandaladon

An armada of US and British naval power is massing in the Persian Gulf in the belief that Israel is considering a pre-emptive strike against Iran’s covert nuclear weapons programme. Battleships, aircraft carriers, minesweepers and submarines from 25 nations are converging on the strategically important Strait of Hormuz in an unprecedented show of force as Israel and Iran move towards the brink of war.

Western leaders are convinced that Iran will retaliate to any attack by attempting to mine or blockade the shipping lane through which passes around 18 million barrels of oil every day, approximately 35 per cent of the world’s petroleum traded by sea.

A blockade would have a catastrophic effect on the fragile economies of Britain, Europe the United States and Japan, all of which rely heavily on oil and gas supplies from the Gulf.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most congested international waterways. It is only 21 miles wide at its narrowest point and is bordered by the Iranian coast to the north and the United Arab Emirates to the south.

In preparation for any pre-emptive or retaliatory action by Iran, warships from more than 25 countries, including the United States, Britain, France, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, will today begin an annual 12-day exercise.

Who still has active “battleships”?
I don’t think England still has its last aircraft carrier. Thought it was rented out to India or Upper Slobovia.
I do appreciate Luxembourg’s reconnaissance yacht from their America’s Cup yacht club.

Also appreciate Bahrain’s rubber ducky. Good for morale (if your name is “Bert or Ernie”).

Time to nuke Iran and get it over with. Good targets - Natanz nuclear facility and all others known or suspected sites.
The holy city of Qom, the site of the Mad Mullahs and their psychopath plans for world dominance.

Republican Guard headquarters in downtown Teheran. Remember the films of our cruise missiles turning corners in downtown Baghdad to get Saddam’s C3 buildings? “Knock, knock”. Who’s there? Land shark”. Kaboom

Iranian mosquito fleet navy. One nuke or a couple daisy cutters and they are fish food.

Iran’s missile forces. One nuke exploded over the area will generate an EMP that will put them out of action. Whatever they shoot up will come right back down on them and go BOOM!

“I love the glow of plutonium in the morning”.

Shit, we don’t have any napalm any more so the best we can do for “crispy critter time” is a nuke or two.

If Achmedgenocide and his little Hitlers want to play war, then they must play by our rules - “Kill all the bastards and let God (or Satan) sort them out.”

I’m tired of our gutless President, JCS, and the military advisors who are politically correct aholes more interested in putting women on submarines than destroying our enemies.

Time to take off the velvet gloves and put on some real steel gaunlets with spikes.

Winnie never cared much for the ANZACS anyway—even less for the Irish.

Iran should be a little more nervous— we’ve been given a big excuse to pull out our personnel from the region and tell Americans to get clear.

Whoever wrote this wouldn’t know a Battleship from crabbing skiff.

There are no more Battleships, except those on display as museum pieces at various places in the world.

The Brits actually have a pretty good heritage when it comes to some things.

they fought hitler to a standoff waiting for the US to arise.

Great leader, Churchill was.

they have their problems with islam. they are more vulnerable than we are.

their news media is much superior than ours. shucks, i trust the UK newsmedia a hundred times more than our msm.

our msm is nothing but liars, fascists/communists and whores.

blessings, bobo

Maybe their last job was picking out images for the Democrat National Convention backdrops.

Did someone tell the Telegraph that no Navy has had a battleship since we retired the last “Iowa class” vessels (for the final time) a few years ago? Cruisers, destroyers and frigates in the Gulf (along with aircraft carriers, subs, amphibious assault ships and support vessels), but no battleships.

Don’t forget to add Tabriz to the target list, the Assahollah Khomeini’s home town deserves nothing less.

GREAT concepts Max, I heartily endorse them!

Both ANWR and the Keystone Pipeline would be operational by now, but for Democrats.

Indeed. It should also be mentioned that the idiot mccain was dead set against drilling in ANWR.

mccain was rabid against any move to drill in ANWR. Another RINO that betrays our Constitution.

Thanks a lot to the fools who voted for the disgusting old fool named mccain.

Hate to tell you this, but the BBC are just as bad. Who do you think covered for the “multicultural revolution” and the selling off of the Brits’ national sovereignty. The BBC also have a habit of covering for Muslims by calling them “Asians”, and they often try to make the Palestinians look like victims.

Remember, if the state has a hand in a media organization, that media organization will be influenced by the government. I will give them credit for taking Obozo into the alley and beating him up over this foreign policy crisis however.

“Someone still has battleships? “

Guess so, makes sense in the Straits. A more appropriate response to prevent a nuke strike on Israel would be a few B1-B or B-2 Aircraft with the appropriate payload.

I caught that too. I wish we still had battleships. The Iowa class was way cool.
