[Article] Press starts with a shaky premise and it's downhill from there.

It would be nice if he could learn to organize his thoughts first and speak in complete sentences.

The inability to speak standard English and the inability to think rationally seem to be closely linked. So why is this guy wealthy and famous, again?

Hillary and the Admin are using this film to cover their own bungling efforts at foreign policy. Rommney and Ryan need to be all over this everyday.

And Obama constantly spiking the ball over Bin Laden’s death is less important than a movie practically no one has seen? Press is auditioning for Carney’s job.

This notion that ‘crying fire in a crowed theater’ is the standard that allows the government to justify censorship of published material is a red herring. The standard is one of clear and present danger to public safety. Documents and films do not in any sense create a ‘present’ danger. You cannot claim that your safely is at immediate risk because of something you see or hear or read on a medium. That some people become enraged and moved to violence is a reaction completely under the control of even the most fanatical of the extremists. They are certainly not motivated by fear for their lives of safety, but by hate for anyone who does not agree with them; just as Mr. press is motivated by hate for anyone who does not agree with him.

Well I hope liberals are paying attention...

Who is it exactly that are ready to give up your and my first amendment rights to placate third world barbarians?

Who is it standing up for basic freedom?

Get a freaking clue!

rape and murder are the moral equivalent of questioning religious beliefs?

Bill Press no longer an atheist- now is the perfect muslim convert... death to apostates

It's just the old thing, you can't cry fire in a crowded theater..

Sorry Bill, but your analogy sucks.

Yelling fire in crowded theater crosses the line because it prompts an understandable reaction from reasonable people. If instead we establish the limits of speech based on the reactions of crazy people, then all speech is at risk, because crazy people will go nuts over anything.

This is so obvious that even a walnut sized liberal brain should be able to understand it.

Sometimes a liberal will have a flash of principledness and recite the old motto “I may disagree with what you say but I’ll fight for your right to say it”.

Always good for a chuckle.

Why didn’t press complain about the u-tube film in July, Autust but waited until 9/11 or a few days later to mention it and the producer??? HMMM??? Isn’t supposed to be an investigative reporter/talk host? Or is he just another mouth piece spouting the whitehouse false complaints??

So if speech is directly responsible for bad behavior then Bill
Press should shut the hell up before someone gets hurt ...or
worse.

Al and Tipper Gore should bring back the PMRC and expand the focus to burning Youtube videos as well as records.

Ok, let us play this game.

Bill Press, who repeated the fraudulent Newsweak story about “Flushing a koran at gitmo” in 2005 that resulted in Americans being killed around the world is guilty of being an accessory to murder and should be prosecuted.

Yell fire in a theater = people run out to save their lives.

Put movie on Youtube = people murder others.

How is this the same again?

So Bill, given your .... Well, whatever passes for thought processes in your case, do you blame Planned Parenthood as being complicit in the murder of George Tiller, since he was blatantly inflaming pro-lifers by providing illegal late term abortions, as well as performing abortions on underage girls that should have resulted in criminal charges of statutory rape against the inseminators... But he was protected from on-high by "Kitty Cat" Sebilius.

So, where is Bill Press's opinion piece blaming Planned Parenthood for the murder????

Mark

So.....what does Press think of Obama’s unwillingness to criticize mega-contributor Bill Maher?

Yes, Bill Maher, the maker of “Religulous,” a very anti-Islamic (as well as anti-Jewish and anti-Christian) film.

I’m tired of these asswipes blaming the 1st Amendment for the actions of our enemies.

As far as I’m concerned, his tacit support for the enemy’s behavior should be subject to the same idiotic judgement he’s rendering against the other 1st Amendment practitioners being condemned.

It’s a movie for heavens sake, a movie! What a stupid thin-skinned religion, that they have to murder because their boy has been offended. Boo-hoo. Why are they always having to fight for this douche bag, mohammed? Our Christian guy, Jesus Christ, was betrayed, flogged, beaten, spit on, mocked and had to carry his own cross to his crucifixion. Yet, he forgave, triumphed, glorified in his own death and taught us to celebrate his pain and sacrifice and to love our enemy, even those who killed him.
