Attack? Depends...

Romneys version of Attack is not like B-1 Bob's, it would be more with a scalpel. Eviscerating Obama in the debates with efficient use of words? Perhaps that will be his style given his business background. My guess is they are laying low as their enemy has been stepping on themselves for days now. Full blown offensive after the 1st debate after he scores some heavy blows, I can see that for sure...

Excuse me? Condescend much? How do you know what I watch and read? My comment was that he should continue to beat Obama over the head with the rolling disaster that is the Middle East. The only pro-Obama media I have been exposed to for several weeks is this pos story. I have no doubt Ryan has the jugular instinct.

“Romney needs to attack.”

Absolutely. Romney showed he could bare his teeth during the primaries when it came to knocking down Newt’s numbers. Has anyone seen a negative ad anywhere on the economy. Obama’s weakness on the economy is Romney’s strength yet I do not see him playing into that strength yet. If he does go negative on the economy it will help the down ticket too.

“Small business” and “reducing regulations” were mentioned. That would be a start, if Republicans actually did so beginning with local regulations against small manufacturing shops (rural anti-competition regs., zoning, etc.).

"That means Obama needs help in New Hampshire."

Zer0 sure is spending a lot in states that should be a gimme.

This is why politicians usually fail to give specifics, on both sides, and then bash each other for not releasing specifics. Average Americans simply don’t understand what ‘Capital Gains” and ‘Corporate Assets Taxes” are. Since people can’t decipher the facts for themselves, the opponent can release misleading ads telling you “This tax change will cost you $563735373633 more ever year!”

To me, it’s attitude that matters before details. Tweaking minor things can help the economy, but it is the approach you take when tackling our problems that really matters.

Obama goes into it with the attitude, “How can I make sure that wealth is distributed equally and that the government has as much money as possible to pay for programs.”

Romney’s approach is “How can I make sure that small business’ are encouraged to grow and expand so that jobs are created while cutting government programs that either have no value, or we simply cannot afford”

It certainly doesn’t help that the American populace has been horribly dumbed down over the last 20 years.

For the general population, the trick is to break things down to simple, short understandable morsels...not to get too deep into facts and figures... as their attention span is very fleeting. Keep repeating these bite size morsels, until it sinks in... using language that the average person uses everyday at say the grocery store. Leave the facts and detailed figures for the wonks, so they don't complain incessantly about the lack of details. It should be a two pronged communication strategy.

Romney has raised plenty of money, he should not have any problem getting the message out repeatedly.

I am trying not to get sick thinking about the situation.
Obama came from nowhere with little background.
He is willing to bow and apologize to foreign leaders.
He is willing to install MB in Lybia.
He is willing to lie, and break promises, at a drop at a hat.
He really did nothing to fix the economy during one of the worst recession in our history.
He goes out of his way to protect illegals.
He pissed away trillions.
He ignores the USC.
So,whats to stop him from doing ANYTHING to win?

I’m still waiting to see if Obama even debates Romney?

Romney’s own party is ragging him

This happens every election. They call the GOP the stupid party for a reason. In 1980 there were Liberal Republicans working feverishly to sabotage Reagan. To a certain segment for the GOP being on the speed dial list of the Democrat Propaganda machine in the media is more important then defeating the Democrat Progressive Fascist political machine

Same thing you are seeing here. The fight between “Conservatives” who want Romney to go out, call a press conference and call 0bama an ass live on national TV and those who don’t.

Attacks AND (simple) proposals. Must have both.

Only 7 weeks to do this.

The only time that this message will get covered, and the undecided sheeple might hear it, is at the debates.

There, Romney needs to re-direct every single media dumb leading trap question to one of 5 attacks-and-proposals. Doesn’t matter if the entire debate theme is “social issues” or “family values” - re-direct.

Or lose.

The media has about about as much a chance discouraging the GOP voters in 2012 as it did in 2010. We’d crawl over broken glass to vote against Obama.

Gee. Thanks for the heads up about Ryan's speech on Friday. You know about it, I know about it, but anyone else I checked with does not know about it.

If you want an unbiased view of what is going on, Romney's convention speech was so light on policy that it floated away. It was meaningless and a waste of time, unfortunately.

His ads are embarrassingly light, too.

I have a hard time believing Romney will lose, but don't underestimate Obama's appeal. There are millions of people out there that like Obama for some unknown reason and he won by 9.6 million votes, too.

I think there are many signs out there that Obama will lose, all anecdotal, such as, some of the liberal ladies in my office have taken down Obama's picture. They don't say anything bad about him, but neither do they say anything good, either. I don't think they will vote for Romney, but most likely won't vote.

We know that Obama gave up on Indiana one whole year ago, a state he outspent McCain 20:1 and that it appears Obama is withdrawing from North Carolina.

It appears Obama may have to play defense in New Mexico and New Jersey, states he may have to spend money in that he was not planning to, but only if Romney challenges those states, and to date, he has not. Romney is within single digits in places like Maine, too.

But at this late date, and it is a late date, Romney does not seem to have it in him to fight....few tough speeches and even worse ads.

So my hope is that the debates will expose him as a person who can change things around and exposes Obama as exhausted and out of ideas - even bad ones. I have never thought Obama was that good of an orator or as president, any different than someone down the street who accidentally got elected as president.

Agree with most of your thoughts.

I guess we COULD spread the word about Ryan’s speech.

And if you want to see jugular action, watch Ryan’s speech on Friday.

* * *

I’d love to! But I just spent 20 minutes googling and can’t find what you’re referring to. Can you please enlighten me? Where will he be speaking? And also, if anyone knows of a good way to find out about future appearances by Ryan or Romney, I’d love to know that too. I always seem to find out about local appearances the day *after* they happen, when I see them in the local rag. Thanks!

I am very discouraged about the election: Romney is a little better than McCain, but not good enough. We are losing the Country!
