* Rumours had flown about his health, Xi had missed meeting with Clinton
* Communist Party gearing up for tricky leadership succession

BEIJING, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Chinese leader-in-waiting Xi Jinping appeared in public on Saturday for the first time in about two weeks, visiting a Beijing university in what appeared to be an effort to dispel rumours of serious illness and a troubled succession.

He is no way near serious illness, but the incident may have impact on China's leadership succession.
Xi could still be a next top leader but his No.2 would wield more power than under original plan, I suspect. So we could have No. 1 and “No. 1.5” instead No. 2.

Yeah. The Beast had her astray ready to throw at his face if she does not get her way. He can’t have that.:-)

I’m very disappointed. According to Chinese movies, Xi should stay in hiding while learning a new kung fu style. He should only reappear at the moment of succession, at which time a huge kung fu fight breaks out. The winner of the fight, of course, becomes emperor.
