Volume 1 of the Mother Jones tapes are out and David Corn says more are coming over the next week, promising clips every few days from his source.
So I am asking you as a Conservative who is impressed with the fact that behind closed doors you actually spoke like you had a real pair of balls and like a Conservative.
We now know where this was filmed...in Boca Raton at a billionaire's home who happens to be someone who you have done business with over the years. You seem to have a good memory...who sold you out that night?
You better think about who you have surrounding you Mitt. You see Willard, this is what happens when you hang out with Liberals and RINO's for so many years of your life. They will stick the knife in when you least expect it. You just got knifed by who you thought was one of your own.
Do you think a real Conservative would have done you in this way?

I wonder what Mitt and advisor Stuart Steven are discussing right now about the best way to deal with obviously what will be an attempt by the WH and media in making his accurate statement into a controversy and TV ads with sick and disable people saying that they are not lazy and not dependent....etc. The only course of action now is to stick to his statement and rally conservatives and the base, anything else in apologizing or making concessions will doom him and make him look weak. This has to be done in terms of MILLIONS of people, not just a few rich donors here and there!
So far it's not looking good. Romney seems to not have the judgment to differentiate between the good (more votes if you do this) AND the bad (fewer votes if you do that).
That doesn't mean he can't hire the talent to tell him these things but to get that talent he will need to dump his entire campaign staff ~ and friends ~ and get someone on board who knows what he's saying ~ Newt Gingrich could handle it ~

Well there ARE people who ‘still don’t know if they will vote for Obama again” or not. At a recent doctor visit I spoke with several in the waiting room.

I don’t see where this video hurts Romney. So long as he doesn’t try to walk it back, the stuff he’s said in these recordings is entirely accurate and probably helps him in the long term.

Somebody recorded Mitt Romney talking at a private fundraiser where he said two supposedly controversial things, and then released it on “Mother ‘van’ Jones”.com

... pretty obvious that this is just a fact
“I don’t expect the 47% of the country on welfare to vote for me.”
This has been making its rounds on news sites and will likely be blown up by the MSM tomorrow as “Romney hates poor people and old people and military veterans.” Even some Freepers believe this is the case, but some are praising Romney for beating up on government welfare.
It’s a mess.
In my opinion, it was kind of a gaffe, because Romney failed to recognize that not all of the 47% are moochers, though some ARE. Some of those people are vets and the elderly who cannot pay income tax. The statement is too harsh for the general public. It’s not something horrifying, we all can admit to forgetting to take into consideration those that need assistance and deserve it when we get angry with the moochers... BUT... if there is a single conservative, veteran, elderly or otherwise that will not vote against Obama because of this statement, then I must announce this party DOA. Imagine if the DemoRats had the same attitude to Obama’s ridiculous statements. He’d be behind 40 points. Everybody should be willing to crawl through broken glass to kick bozo out, and if that isn’t the case, then we should throw in the towel right now.
My two cents.
If you want a man elected, isn’t it preferable to get more of the opposition voting for him? Getting them to stay home is a good thing as well, but I’d think actual votes to overcoming fraud would help.

Well, I agree that he had better not try to apologize or weasel out of it. He said it, and he has to stick to it.
But, frankly, I listened to it, and I think he messed up. Even though this was supposed to be a closed meeting, he has to be more careful.
He SHOULD have said. that the reason there are so many people on the dole is that the Democrats PUT THEM THERE. Not everyone on the dole is there because they choose to be. A lot of people have lost their jobs in the past several years because Obama screwed up the economy.
Sure, some people are on the dole and like it. But even that is the result of Democrats putting them there, by breaking up their families over the past several generations, or by brainwashing them in the public school system.
In other words, don’t point the finger of blame at the people on the dole. Point it at the politicians who put them there. Much smarter, politically.
You can waste a lot of time and money getting Democrats to vote for a Republican. It’s less time consuming and costs less to convince a Democrat to not bother voting.
And those running Romney's campaign are simply, ignorant. And no points for Mitt; not 'getting it'.
Take a page from Allen West; and 'move on' through this. Take a page yet, from Clint. Best defense; a better offensive.

All it costs in this case is 5 min explaining that the statement is accurate and that before anyone screams ‘racist’ they should actually disprove his statements with fact. And most important of all, not back down.

A country with more employed people generates more tax revenue and has less welfare. Newt or Ronaldus himself would not argue with that on their worst day.

I agree. Romney has appeared “insensitive” All of us know people who’ve been devastated by the Obama “recovery”. I know people with Madters degrees picking up dog crap to pay the rent and collecting food stamps to buy canned tuna fish. I dont fault them for not paying taxes and it’s not like they wouldn’t love to have a paycheck and pay their share.
Many voters aren’t as political as we are - so be it. Romney has just stepped in it big time. Not because what he said isn’t mostly true but because this plays right into the “evil republican, millionaires and billionaires” meme.
