A college professor has been placed on leave after she allegedly forced her class to sign a pledge to vote for President Obama in the upcoming elections.

Early last week Professor Sharon Sweet at Brevard Community College (BCC) allegedly told students to sign a pledge that reads: “I pledge to vote for President Obama and Democrats up and down the ticket.”

There have been many cases of black teachers abusing their students and the constitutional culture of this nation with their radical zeal.

The disrespect of racists...but I repeat myself.

That action is a sure sign of desperation.

In the summer of 1984, a friend of mine and I attended a small democratic confab that was designed as a "dialogue" between conservatives and liberals. We went just to observe and ask stupid questions pretending to be liberals. At a most opportune time the guy in charge asked me what I thought of his presentation and I said, "I am kind of disappointed. I thought this would be a very stimulating conversation and it just feels like I am at a baby shower guessing what day the baby is going to be born." He was miffed that I did not enjoy his expert presentation.

But that wasn't the most fun stuff that happened. Shortly before that place was about to empty, a friend of the guy in charge sort of burst into the room, sat down and acted really disgusted. She had just conducted a class vote on her teenage students and "almost all of them voted for Reagan!" I wanted to clap out loud, but I didn't want to blow my cover. She described the entire vote and even with her special prompting they voted with the "enemy."

They think that all of their tricks will work, but sometimes the kids don't roll the way they plan. Poor babies.

This reminds me of a place I worked in my younger days that was going through an attempt to become unionized. Most people really didn’t want it, but there was a lot of pressure put on people to wear pins, hand out cards, and so forth. I was a young hot-head with more temper than brains, and apparently it showed - so they left me alone. Many of my co-workers, especially those with families, were really worried about threats and violence.

I told everyone one of them the save thing - do what you have to do to survive, but nobody knows how you vote when you go behind the curtain.

Probably 80-90% of the people had union badges on, had stickers on the side of their toolboxes, crap on their cars, etc. The union lost something like 33% for, 77% against. I laughed my a$$ off.

Pass around all the stupid pledges you want, I’m not going to let you flunk me and waste six months of my life - but you’ll NEVER control or know how I vote!

I have always been conservative, and when I was in the public mental institutions, I felt I had to be a closeted conservative. Teachers don't realise that no matter how hard they try, or even in proportion to how hard they try, kids will go their own way. Any liberalism they instill in you wears off only a couple of years after you leave school at most. Some will stay liberal, but they probably always would have been. The rest of us, we just discard it once we get out into the real world.

This teacher is willing to to risk her career for a small effect on kids.

W.T.F.?

Did she really think this would stand? How stupid is this woman? She teaches college?

This reminds me of the experience we had with a Ford dealer. We’ve actually gone to 3 or 4 Ford dealers and I don’t get it, every time it was the hard sell. I know people like them because they didn’t need a bailout and I guess the hard sell works, but goshdarn you need to have a plan B because the hard sell will NEVER work with me. I’ll never even enter a Ford dealership again, not on a bet.

Anyhoo we went to one down in Virginia shopping for my kid while she was in college. We looked at some car she kind of liked. Then the salesguy writes an amount on a napkin, literally a napkin, like from his morning coffee, not even a piece of notepaper...and he says: if you’ll sign this offer I’ll see if I can get my manager to approve it.

And hubby’s like: that’s a napkin. And the guy just repeats: sign it now and I’ll try to get it approved.

And hubby says: I’m not signing a napkin. And the guy is just grinning at him.

Then, we left.

See, this is why I’d LOVE to have that woman as my prof. And I HOPE the Black Panthers show up at my polling place.

And, this is also why I’ll never own a gun.

I never failed to voice my opinions. In 1974, the 9th grade, I was asked to join the Young Democrat Club. Not that I was political then but I aksed if there was a Young Republican Club. Of course not I was told.

I started one for that reason alone. In Booneville, Arkansas.

If Holder's people were able to threaten voters with a weapon outside a polling place with and get away with it, why would this woman think she could not get away with this?

Neither have I. I had a high school history teacher who was of Japanese descent. He had us stage a mock trial for Harry Truman for dropping the H bombs on Japan. I was jury foreman and argued with my fellow jurors until I won an acquittal.

This same teacher and his parents were pulled from their home in California and placed in an internment camp. Funny thing though, he didn't want to put FDR on trial for doing that.

Your story reminds me very much of the days of union activity in the early 1930s. My mother would come home from her $2-4 per week piece work job crying as to how the union thugs were harassing her to be on the picket lines making zilch instead of her working her fingers off to buy powder milk and 3-4 day old bread to feed two young boys. One of the boys died on Okinawa. I have since deliberately stayed away from any union work and spoke loud and clear that there should be no government employee unions. I believe that even FDR agreed with me.

...after they received a phone call from a concerned parent.
So these "young adults" attending this college class didn't call it in because either they didn't know that what was happening was wrong or they simply accepted it as a normal occurrence and acceptable.

Either way, that's pretty damned sad.

While working as the executive officer to the AF Contingency Support Staff in the basement of the Pentagon I once helped draft a request for release authority to drop nucs in the North Atlantic to take out the Soviet Boomer boats. It was a world wide paper exercise like Nifty Nugget or one of those. I can’t recall who was President but I think Jimmy Carter. The VP was playing as the President never plays in Pol-Mil games. The request went through the Joint Staff to WH and was denied.

Believe it or not, we actually had a guy named Mike Hunt in my class. Poor bastard... you can imagine what he went through. Of course "I" never participated in the harassment... cough...
I believe he had a middle name of Robert or something similar and made several attempts to get people to start calling him that instead of Mike but it never panned out for him, it was simply too much fun as things stood.
