Time Magazine's Jay Carney has a slightly different take than White House press secretary Jay Carney on a 2008 Obama gaffe.
Asked about President Obama's 2008 remarks that rural voters get "bitter" and "cling" to guns and religion, press secretary Carney downplayed comparisons between those remarks and Mitt Romney's recent comments that 47 percent of Americans were moochers.
Then senator-Obama never said that he did not "worry" about rural voters, Carney said.
"That happened four years ago and was discussed in abundance at the time," Carney said.
But a reporter quoted back a 2008 column to him while he was a journalist at Time magazine where Carney wrote that Obama's words were "poorly chosen."
"I don't remember that column," Carney said to laughter. "I honestly don't."

This is what happens when Carney has to constantly lie for the Lyer-in-Chief - the more lies told the less likely he is to remember the original lies.
In my high school locker room Carney would have kissed the floor like raw meat. What a load this little prick is.
To make his livelihood as an Official Liar for the socialist demonrats and to advance their cause against his fellow Americans is a death sentence on many levels.
Good luck with that, dude. I hope it was worth it.
Hey, if he thinks this is supposed to work, why shouldn't Romney be able to say it and then move on, too? Would the "news" media go for that?
But Romney will be held accountable for high school pranks
He honestly doesn’t want to remember the column.
Democrats are Democrats first. Being an American is way down on their list.
I loved Rush’s final comment on The Little Carney today, when he told Mr. Claire Shipman to “...get a PAP smear...”.
Note how the liberal press rewrote Obama's blunder. He originally said "bitter" and "cling" to guns and bibles.
Everything God gave us He gave us for a purpose and a reason, hate included. Just be sure any hate is directed at an appropriate target.
I see "Hate" as being of the dark side and experience tells me Yoda was on to something:
"But beware of the dark side. Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi-Wan's apprentice.
I agree with you and Yoda, the negative emotions can be deadly. I must seek forgiveness daily (sometimes more than once daily). The righteous struggle with this, and live in a righteousness not of their own doing. The evil among us wallow and rejoice in the “dark side” forces.
Sometimes I win, but mostly I just learn and relearn from my (usually repeated) mistakes. I am a good model for what not to do much of the time.
Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know..." has much to teach me, just as soon as I stop being such a rebellious student and a more consistent applier of what is revealed.
One thing I do know is that karmic ruler coming down on my knuckles leaves a mark.
Dear Jay, be careful that you do not become what you hate the most.
or is it really too late?
In the completely non-honest sense of the word.
