Tim Tebow: ‘I Haven’t Ruled Out’ Running For Office Once Through With Football (Freep the poll)
CBS New York ^

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Tim Tebow may one day take his “Wildcat” offense to another field entirely: politics.

The most talked about player in football said in an interview that once he’s done with football he’ll “at least look at and consider one day” a run for office.

“I haven’t ruled it out. Whatever avenue I feel like I can make a difference in, I’d love to do,” the Jets’ backup quarterback told ESPN New York. “I haven’t ruled out anything like that. It won’t be anytime soon in my future, but it’ll be something I’ll at least look at and consider one day.”

I'm not certain what you're saying, but I believe Tebow qb'd the Broncos to a winning season and a play off birth last year.

Fwiw, I think he has a better win percentage with the Broncos than Manning................:-)

He may never be a great NFL QB, but one thing is for sure, Tebow is nothing but a winner wherever he's been. His old team mates will all say that about him.

How many games was that? So he must be leading the Jets today?

I agree, he’s a fine young man with a giant heart.

But this pre-coronation is a bit much.

He certainly stirs the pot of emotions among fans.

I don't quite understand either extreme, the Tebow haters, or those who find him the greatest athlete ever.

He's still young, seemingly has his head on straight for a pro athlete, and has accomplished a lot already.

I’m a big Tebow fan, have been since he was a Gator QB leading championship teams.

But lets see some more NFL football before we decide if he should be canonized a a saint or appointed Presidet for Life first.

He should start by learning how to pass. Then he can worry about the future.

Playing the Steelers will do that, but let’s see, how did Tebow do the last time he played the Steelers.

I think Tebow in the lockeroom is a good thing, even his Freshman year at UF, when Chris Leak was the starter, Tebow as still a big factor in them winning the National Championship that year.

Unfortunately for Tim, he was made to play for the Jets who represent New York City and the New York City market is dominated by Secularists, Gays, Liberals and foregniers who would not stand for a real American like Tebow playing for their team.

Instead, they have chosen this Sanchez fella.

You mean like taking over a 1 and 4 team, turning them around, finish the season 8 and 8, going to the play offs and winning the first play off game against one of the toughest defenses?

Uhhh no. Last year he made a team 8-8, won 1 of what have been a necessary 3 games to get to the Superbowl, and then got crushed like a grape by the conferences eventual SB representative. And they got rid of him because when you get a chance to get rid a terrible QB you do it, and when you get a chance to replace him with a first ballot hall of famer you do it FAST.

He’s a nice guy, but on the field he’s Kordell Stewart, has enough QB skills to be useful as a gadget player, but not enough to be a starter.

How many interceptions did that first ballot Hall of Famer throw in his last game?

Happens. Even great QBs have crappy days. The difference between a Manning and a Tebow is the percentage. Let’s also not forget if the Broncos defense had pulled one more stop they probably win that game.

He almost took Denver all the way to the Super Bowl

Revisionist history.

and they had him cut from the roster.

He was traded, genius, not cut. Big difference.

“How about playing NFL quarterback for a winning season first?”

Unfortunately, that’s not gonna happen. I’ve watched every game Tebow has played in the NFL, and his quarterbacking skills are pretty poor and haven’t improved very much.

While his execrable throwing skills have shown some improvement, he’s completely failed at every other aspect of the position. He doesn’t have a clue how to read a defense, and even worse, he has no idea in the world how to look over his field of receivers, no idea how to head fake, etc. The best Tebow can usually do is look the entire time at the one and only receiver he’s decided to throw to in advance and if he’s not open either throw the ball away or scramble for short yardage. And the really bad part of that is that he’s shown zero improvement in those particular skills. Quite frankly, it looks to me like Tebow isn’t very smart.
