Clint Eastwood finally admitted what everyone already knew ... the GOP made a HUGE MISTAKE by hiring him to speak at the Republican National Convention -- calling Mitt Romney's people "dumb" to ask him in the first place.
Clint opened up in a recent interview with Extra's Jerry Penacoli, claiming, "If somebody’s dumb enough to ask me to go to a political convention and say something, they’re gonna have to take what they get.”
It's a pretty crazy statement ... considering Clint had previously rebuffed critics of his infamous "Invisible Obama" speech by refusing to admit the entire thing was a train wreck.
Clint insisted he was just expressing his feelings -- but now, it's pretty clear he's starting to realize the truth ... it just wasn't a good idea.
When asked if he'd do it all over again -- the 82-year-old replied, "I never look backward. It’s done and it’s done. I probably would. I wouldn’t be afraid of it."

I call BS on this one. It’s TMZ is the primary reason, and after having had to watch it as captive audience at the Dental office I know TMZ isn’t worth the three initials, and what the “H” does Three Mile Zone mean anyway.
If this is true why did Eastwood yuk it up with Romney after the presentation that night?

The headline is a little misleading.
He is correct and everyone is missing the point. He was asked by the GOPe because they thought it would attract hard core conservatives like me.

Same as putting a candidate in a NASCAR event with the belief that would court a conservative vote. If Obama rides an entire race with Jeff Gordon....yeah mrs p6 is a fan....I am still voting against him!

It was obviously a sarcastic, self-deprecating remark on Eastwood’s part. That’s the only direction you can go when the liberal media keeps accusing you of giving a “disastrous” speech. He’s mocking them.
