Romney: PA Just Not Interested in Peace
Arutz Sheva ^ | 18/9/12 | David Lev

Posted on 09/18/2012 2:32:43 PM PDT by Eleutheria5

In a video released Tuesday, Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney says that a resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian dispute is highly unlikely, because unlike the Israelis, the PA has “no interest whatsoever” in making peace with Israel. The video, which shows Romney speaking at a recent fundraiser in Florida, was posted Tuesday on the web site of ultra-liberal Mother Jones magazine.

At the event, Romney was asked if the "Palestinian problem" could be solved. Romney replied that the Palestinians have "no interest whatsoever in establishing peace, and that the pathway to peace is almost unthinkable to accomplish. I look at the Palestinians not wanting to see peace anyway, for political purposes, committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel, and these thorny issues, and I say there's just no way," Romney said. Asked what his policy would be, Romney said that it would be to "move things along the best way you can. You hope for some degree of stability, but you recognize that this is going to remain an unsolved problem -- and we kick the ball down the field and hope that ultimately, somehow, something will happen and resolve it.” The White House slammed Romney's remarks, saying that President Obama's predecessors, both Democrat Bill Clinton and Republican George W. Bush, were very active in the search for Middle East peace. "It is simply the wrong approach to say, we can't do anything about it, so we'll just kick it down the field," said Obama spokesman Jay Carney. "That's not leadership. That's the opposite of leadership."

How can they pledge their fortunes, when they’ve made a fortune off of pretending to be a government? How can they pledge their sacred honor, when they have no honor, just the Asiatic notion of “face”? How can they secure anyone’s inalienable rights when they put people on death row both for selling land to Jooos! and for openly professing to atheism?

"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction," says Obama.

This is it. Obama -vs- Israel and us.

Well...according to that article, that appears to have been a misquote????

UPDATE AND CORRECTION: From reader Dan, with thanks:
The actual quote from the book is from page 261 and is as follows: "Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

“Amazing. It seems that Romney has discovered an outrageous, new, camopaign strategy - telling the truth. I wonder how it will work.”

Yes, but why must we hear of it through somegrainy opposition research release?

Why can’t Mitt say it proudly and boldly on the campaign trail?

“peace is the total destruction of Israel, that for them is peace, when Israel is wiped off the map”

Why has it taken so long for an American pol to say the obvious?

I have no idea. I have known this about the Palestinians for the longest time. For the arabs, they will NEVER want peace with Israel, for them, the only way to achieve peace is when every Israeli is dead, that for them will be their greatest achievement.
