HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman says she shot and killed a man Monday because she was afraid for her life, but an eyewitness is telling a much different story.

The deadly encounter began as a simple fender bender accident on FM 1960 near Perry Road. What happened next depends on who you ask.

There were two vehicles, two drivers; both on their way to work Monday morning. But now only one only is alive to tell her story.

They call it Cypress Creek Parkway now. Don’t ask me why.

The woman doing the shooting is black. I think the dead guy may be hispanic. (Reverse Trayvon)

Is there a subdivision out there called Cypress Creek? I moved away in 1982, and everything has changed so much that I doubt that I could find my way around.

If they find the guy's prints on the door handle...

That's the $64,000 question.

She is.

There are several subdivisions with Cypress Creek in the name.

You may be thinking of Cypress Creek Manor, which is near FM1960 and Stuebner-Airline.

I’m not saying I would do such a thing, just that it’s not logical to assume that such an act is a threat to your life. That defense just won’t hold up, unless there is a lot more evidence that we aren’t hearing.

Yes, I saw that. If he did, that makes it a potentially more threatening situation, but I still can’t see how that equates to imminent threat of death, especially since her doors were apparently locked, her vehicle operational, and she was in a public place.

Yes, sure, the guy could have been angry enough over the accident that he wanted to start some trouble. Every situation is different, and not being there, or seeing a video, we can’t know. I’m just saying, in general, it would be pretty rare for someone, in this situation, post auto accident, to just immediately escalate to murder against the other party. Swearing, sure, maybe even yelling or doing something aggressive like that, but pulling someone out of the vehicle to kill them in a public place? I don’t think that’s a reasonable assumption under most circumstances like the ones described.

The witness talking to the press and repeating the phrase “I want it to be fair” set off my PC tainting alarm.

The gas station should have some video, especially in Harris (Pronounced Hair-ass) County.

Us old guys aren’t up to a fight, we’re more likely to make sure we aren’t put in a position to be killed and act accordingly.

Depending on the situation, the type of knock etc, a lot of us could consider that knock to be a direct and immeadiate threat to our lives.
